VIDEOS AND KUMQUATS

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Tennis was invented so that man and dog would have something slimy to play with together."

Hi dear friends,

Mommy got up this morning and went to the drugstore and then stopped for breakfast at Denny's. I asked if I could go and she said Denny's won't let doggies in.....that sticks if you ask me but that's just the way it is here in Houston. Anyway she promised to bring me something back and the old girl came through and brought me a T-bone off the steak she had for breakfast. I was Yummylicious!! There is a video of me chewing on my bone at the end of this post. Mommy says I am a delicate eater and do not devour my food like Audrey did yesterday. I just like to savor my bones, and suck all the goodness out. I may be slow but I am know how to strip them bones.

Yesterday, we showed you a bunch of videos that were taken yesterday and we still have some more, so here are a few more........but first......look at what Susanna gave the Mommy yesterday.....kumquats. My Mommy's daddy used to raise them in their backyard when Mommy was a little girl. Kumquats are sometimes sweet and sometime kinda tart. These are kinda tart. They look like tiny little oranges and you can even eat the skin. You'd have to eat a couple of dozen even to equal a regular sized orange. Aunt Judy said she puts them with sugar and water and boils them to make jam.

The little white flowers turn into the fruit.

Susanna's tree is loaded with fruit.

They grow on short trees that look like bushes.

Now here are some more of the videos.

Remember the crazy little girl Audrey from the eating video yesterday. This video is of her acting vicious but actually she was just showing off.

For those of you who tried to count the doggies yesterday, there were 9 in the picture on top of the post. There were also two doggies named Winnie there, but the cream colored Winnie in this video never would stay still long enough for Mommy to get a good good shot of her. Winnie is Susana's dog. She was born with a club foot but it doesn't seem to bother her and she just walks pigeon toed. The other Winnie was being fostered by Susanna for awhile and was adopted several months ago. She is the little girl with the harness on that Susanna was holding in one of the other videos. Her adopted Mom & Dad came to say hello so we could all see her again and make a donation to DROH.

It started raining really hard, and still is, after Mommy got back from breakfast, so I've been working on my bone all afternoon.

It took the Doofus forever to let loose of it.

Mommy said we have to go now and take a little nappie, so I gotta go hide my bones. I wouldn't want her to find them and through them away until I have every morsel off.

Later.......Love, kisses & {{{Huggies}}} to all........Mona

Oh precious Kumquats!
Asian, specially Vietnamese people loves Kumquats. On the Lunar New Year, if you go to any Asian supermarket, Kumquats sold in ceramic pots that symbolizes for achievement(due do its homophone). You could make Kumquats juice just like lemonjuice for your mom, Mona.
I sent e-mail to you, Mona. Have you seen it?

Hi, Mona!
I had never seen kumquats. There is a tree here in one of the streets that has very little oranges but my mom says it is because it never gets "groomed".
You got yummy bones! I am sure they were delicious!
Have a good night
Kisses and hugs

Mom says that she has had kumquats before when she lived in Louisiana! Her friends had 2 kumquat trees - one sweet and one tart and they were very yummy! We wish we could taste them too!

Love ya lots,

The fruit is very pretty and looks tasty. It's a good thing you don't have another furry furiend there with you because then you would have to gobble that bone up a lot faster.

Happy napping.

Cool fruit!

You are delicate eating bones. My girls don't get bones since they try to eat it all too fast and get sick!

Hi Mona,
Not sure if you are aware, but during the Lunar New Year, most Asian families like to buy pots of kumquats home as it brings good fortune. I have never ever seen the entire kumquat plant before because what we have here are smaller and potted, and unfortunately the climate in Singapore is not cool enough for them.
Your kumquats are lovely.. thanks for sharing!!

You are so ladylike with that bone I can't believe it. Momma would be shy a couple of digits if she tried that routine with me.

I think Audrey might have gotten stuck on that ottoman. With her short leggies, it looked like quite a drop.

Slobbers,
