BANANA SPLIT FRUIT SALAD

HI FRIENDS,

We are turning our blog over to The Mommy tonight.
Several doggies have asked for The Mommy's receipt for her Banana Split Fruit Salad and boy is it YUMMY. We only got to lick the bowl after she made it but she said if it didn't all get eaten up she would give us some. HA....there wasn't any doggies at the party but it sure looked like somebody licked the bowl clean. The Mommy said she doesn't even need to clean the bowl. He He !!

BANANA SPLIT FRUIT SALAD
(medium size serving bowl)

1 pkg strawberry/banana jello
1 8 or 12 ounce container of cool whip
1 medium container of small curd cottage cheese
2 large sliced bananas
1 pint sliced strawberries
1 can of pineapple tidbits (drained)
1 cup or more of chopped pecans

optional: maracino cherries and chocolate syrup.

Mix jello, cool whip and cottage cheese together until creamy and color is solid pink.

Add bananas, strawberries and pineapple until all blended together.

Add pecans (as much as you like)

Mixture should be thick but creamy, served in individual bowls with a cherry on top or in a chocolate cone with chocolate syrup and a cherry on top. That's all.

There are many variations to this salad. The way I originally had it was the way an aunt is Arkansas made it. She used apricot jello and canned mandarin oranges (drained) and no other kind of fruit. We have done it with maracino cherries and cherry jello. Be Adventurous & Enjoy.
