Day 4 in the Country and Visiting with our Grandparents

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"You must always remember that, as far as the Bible is concerned,

God only threw the humans out of Paradise"

Hi friends,

Sorry we're a little late with our final installment of our country trip. It's all the Mommy's fault. The old girl just can't keep up. There are just too many things to do and not enough time too get it all done. The Mommy promised us she'll do a post about last weekend at the big party we told you about but that has to wait. Also guess what? On the way home from work Thursday, the Mommy was thinking about our brother, Peanut, so she called Uncle Ron and he sent the Mommy a ton of pictures of my handsome brother and all the critters they have on the "farm". He is handsome as ever. Peanut not Uncle Ron. Maybe some day Weenie will be able to meet him in the flesh. But we gotta tell ya about what did yesterday!!

Here we was watching the Mommy calling somebody to ask if it was OK for us to come over for a visit. She wanted to introduce them to their newest grandson, Weenie.

YEP!!! We went to see our grandparents. Well not really ours, they belong to our friends at Dachsie's Rule but they share because they love us and we don't got any of our own. Grammy and Grandpa made me their grandpup year ago and now it was Weenie's turn.

But first....look it what the Mommy found in our backyard. Can you believe it?

This is what we found at Grammy & Grandpa's house in their backyard. So much prettier than that half dead thing in our backyard!

Can you tell how happy I was to see my Grammy, Irene.

Weenie little head kept popping around when he heard Grandpa, Richard's voice.
This is Maggie Mae. She is Aunt Becky's girl but she lives with Grammy and Grandpa now. It's not so hectic at their house.

Grandpa holding Maggie....her calls her Pooty.

Day 4 of our country trip.

"Hey Mona!" "What little fella?" "Do we gotta go home? I could stay here forever!!" "All good things gotta come to and end, Weenie." "But who we gonna bark at when we get home? We don't got no cowdogs in Houston." You'll just have to bark at Smokey." "Do ya think maybe we could sneak one in our doggie crate. The little black calf that was born while we was here?" "Silly Weenie!!"

We didn't do much the last day except visit, bark at the cowdogs, chase squirrels, birds, bugs and dig in the dirt.

Remember that cutie pie Sherman. Too cute for a boy, the Mommy kept calling him a girl. Take a close look at this picture. Because of Shermie, we all had at least 2himbaths a day. Yes 2 baths!! That's dirt you see on him. Aunt Mary's sidewalk is only half finished and there is a big mud puddle in front whenever the water sprinklers came on, twice a day. Of course Shermie found it right off the bat. There's nothing lick roaching in mud!

Once we got our baths, none of us could go outside again until the yard had dried out. With the Texas heat in the 90's it didn't take long. So we stayed outside most of the time. Then after dinner we'd go outside again and have to have another bath when he got dark because the sprinklers would come on again before they could round us all up.

Being the only wire hair and also an expert mud roacher, it took longer for me to dry. It just wasn't fair to make me stay in longer than everybody else. What would a little dry dirt hurt?

We did have one last bark feast. There was one teenage cow that must have fallen in love with our car. He would not budge regardless of how much we barked or charged the fence. Most of us finally gave up.

Final score --- Cowdog 1 Dachshunds 0

A few more cowdog pictures until the next trip. Let's see July 4th's coming up soon.

Boy, we'd love to see some cowdogs! Looks like you had a fantastic visit in the country. But what's with washing off all that good mud? Haven't your humans heard that some people pay tons of green papers for nice mud baths?
