Peppermint Patty 05/23/2011
Today I got a call from Peppermint Patty's Mom telling me that little Patty had died at 3:15 am this morning. Patty was adopted on October 6, 2010 by a wonderful family after a home visit I had done with them. Last Friday there was a comment on Mona's blog from the Mom asking if we remembered them. Of course we did. She had been following Mona's blog for a long time and was excited about Weenie. She has a very old dachshund named Grayson that is blind too. We planned on getting together for a visit with all our dogs.
Then she called this morning. Patty had been having seizures and the medicine stopped working. She was rushed to the Vet yesterday but there was nothing he could do. They said she was brain dead. So the Seizure Monster has won again. Why does this have to happen? Why, why, why? Patty was everything to her Mom and she is devastated. It is always so special when we can get a dog adopted and to lose one like this is too hard to endure.
Please keep Patty's family in your prayers during this very sad time.

We're so very sorry to learn of Peppermint Patty's crossing. We know her mama must miss her something fierce. But we're so glad Peppermint Patty spent the last months of her life surrounded by love and being well cared for. At least she had that blessing.

Peppermint Patty was so very blessed to have a loving "furever" home in her last bit of beautiful heaven here on earth. Rest in peace sweet baby and zoomies with the angels.
It is always a sad day when we lose a furiend. Mom and me is so sorry fur your loss.
