OUR SATURDAY PLAY DATE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Anybody who doesn't know what soap tastes like,

never washed a dog."

~~ Franklin P. Jones

(unknown husky)

Hi everybody,

Saturday Tina & Chris had a get together at their house with a bunch of their friends and any small dog they wanted to bring. Of course you know that most of the dogs were dachshunds and chi weenies but this time we had two Westies. One of them even had a book written about him, but more about that later.

So sit back, get comfortable, go get a drink or a snack cause we gots lots of pictures to show you.

These first pictures where taken of us doggies, whenever somebody new arrived, whether man or beast, it didn't matter, we was just had to make sure who they were.

Mommy calls it "being nosy". Whatever!!

On the other side of this fence was some other dogs and we invited them over and they just kept barking at us. How rude!!

A closeup....that's Bernie on the left, the doggie that has his own book.

What's a get together without food. They had turkey burgers and pulled pork. I say they, the peeps because we wasn't invited to eat with them.

BUT....this time it was different.

"Hey!! let us in, we know there's food in there."

"Let's check it out. It might be food.!" ........... Nope just water.

Still waiting.

(notice the heads up and sniffing)

"What you got there Aunt Chris?

FOOD!!!!!

(Can you see whose standing on her hind legs above?)

The carnage begins. It was pulled pork. Aunt Tina made it with a new recipe she found that you cook with Dr Pepper, BBQ sauce and a bunch of spices....delish!!

"Thanks Aunt Chris!"

There are some advantages to being blind. Weenie got his bites right into his mouth. The rest of us had to beg.

Looking for scraps.

Remember our fellow DwB friends at "Dachies Rule"?

They came all the way from Benchley to be with us. That's Roxie in green, Sammy in blue and Andy in black. There new dog house is almost finished and they will be moving in at them end of this month. Sure hope they start blogging again.

" Hey, Weenie! Guess where we'll be Memorial Day weekend. You'll love it in the country with all the cow dogs to bark at and catfish to catch!!"

It was a fantastic day. We really didn't count how may peeps were there, they kept coming and going but their was 15 doggies, all rescues except for 4, all adopted from Dachshund Rescue of Houston and All Texas Dachshund Rescue of Texas.

Aunt Judy & Bandit

There was only one man brave enough to be amongst all our Mommies. His name is Mike. He helped his dog, the Wes ie Bernie, write his book. Mommy will post about them and the book as soon as she gets a copy. It was hilarious. That Bernie sure knows how to write and has got some dog definitions that are right on.
