The Mommy here....... Just a quick post to let everybody know that Weenie is OK, NO CANCER!! He had 3 small growths that Dr Briles removed on his right side but that turned out to be something normal in older dogs. Sorry I don't remember excatly what Dr Briles called them but he said they get clogged with oil. When I found them this morning I feel apart. Visions of Mona's cancer went through my head. The first thing Dr Briles did when I went to pick Weenie up was to hug me and say it's OK. There is nothing like an old woman crying like a baby! Now my Weenie looks like a patchwork quilt and his month is a little puffy but he's still my handsome little fella. He ended up having 2 teeth pulled from the front and has whats called Class III Gingivits. He is not very happy right now because for 2 or 3 days he has to eat a soft diet. That means no hard treats, we'll see how long that lasts.
Peeing a river at his favorite spot.
Right side Left side

His ECG did show that he has Rhythm Sinus Arrhythmia which Dr Briles says is normal in older dogs. That's why he snorts so much & snores. All of his labwork was normal. I am so grateful that Dr Briles has his own lab department and we didn't have to wait days for test results. I am not very good a waiting.

All in all a good report. No baths for 10 days, which he won't mind and no jumping for 2 weeks, which he doesn't do anyway. It's gonna be a hard few days not being able to give him his crunchie treats but I promised him and Mona, that they can have their treats back in time for Saturday's playdate.

Mona here........

I ask you, why can't I have my treats? Mommy said it wouldn't be fair to Weenie for him to see me eating treats. Can you believe that? The boy is blind, he'd never know but Mommy says he'd hear me crunching. I love my brother so I guess it's a small price to pay and I did miss him something fierce. Mommy found me in his bed wrapped in his blankie when they got home. You'd think we hadn't seen each other in a year. We was kissing and making up for lost time.

As promissed here is my stuffie Mommy gave us yesterday.

Before the attack.

In the middle of the attack.
Sorry no after picture, it would be horrible to witness.

Weenie here........

Thanks to all my furfriens for you good vibes and prayers. Mommy is just so tired that I gotta put her to bed now.

Love & {{{huggies}}}.....Mona & Weenie and a thankful Mommy.

PS....sorry spell check isn't working & I'm too tired to do it myself.

Does poop count as a "soft" treat?

Just kidding!

Sounds like someone deserves some Lite and Fit Cherry Yogurt for being such a brave boy!

Overall, a very good report. So good on the no cancer, too bad about the teeth, but best to get it taken care of now. Mona, we know you will be very kind to Weenie as he recovers, and maybe Mommy can find a way to sneak you a treat or two without him knowing:)

Weenie, we're so glad that you are (mostly) in terrific shape and that your growths were benign. Good thing you got your teeth tended to, if you have heart issues. Do you have to take any meds for your heart? And thanks for the update on Miss Shelby. We're glad she's doing so well, too. Have a swift recovery, little dude.
