A DOWNED DOG? I THINK NOT

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"Dance in your passion and play in your joy."

SQUIRT
Hi there!! We is back....knock on wood...."Mona my head is not wood".........Oops!
Mommy has decided to start spotlighting ATDR doggies in need of the Power of the Paw.
Ever heard of a "downed" dog. It is a rude word. Mommy hates it. Every doggie deserves a chance and ATDR will never give up on any dog. Meet Squirt.
Below is a link to a short video on YouTube on one of ATDR doggies - you can see that this little lady of maybe 6-7 pounds is certainly not "downed". She visited with Dr Jeffries at the 1488 Animal Medical Center this past Tuesday and, without taking x-rays, it was quite obvious to him that she has some damage to the area between L1 and L2 in her spine. She was started on a low dose of Prednisone to bring down any inflammation it can and she will begin Klaser treatments today (Monday) She will have three treatments over the course of next week, two treatments the next week and one the following week. They are very hopeful that it will restore her ability to walk normally, be able to run and play eventually and allow her to have more control over her urination and bowels. She is as sweet as she can be and gets along with all the other dogs; she shows some "interest" in the cats however!
Click here to see her video.

Gotta go now. Mommy has to go to work.

She is such a beautiful dachsund with a woeful but lovely face. I hope she heals quickly so she can run and play again. The music and the video really touched my heart.

I've never heard that term before.

Squirt is a beauty. I hope she gets the medical help she needs.
