I MISSED THE DROH HALLOWIMER PARTY & PUPPY NEWS

14 DAYS UNTIL HALLOWEEN
QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Family comes first."

Hi everybody,

Sorry we haven't been around much but Mommy hurt her left left leg at the WienerFest in College Station last weekend and hasn't been able to walk much. She hasn't missed any work but if you know anything at all about my Mommy you know she is very stubborn. She went to Employee Heath Wednesday because her left knee started locking up. Everybody was scared it might be a blood clot but it isn't. On Friday her Primary Care Physician said he thinks she torn a muscle or a tendon and wants her to go to the Orthopedic doctor that did the emergency surgery on her left knee 3 years ago but she couldn't get an appointment until Tuesday afternoon, so I guess she'll just be hobbling around until then.

Today's quote of the day was chosen because Mommy has been saying it to me all day long.  I missed going to the DROH  "Dachshunds of the Caribbeans" Hallowiener Party today. Last night she went to the BONO, her Mommy's side, Family Reunion because "family comes first".
She wanted to stay home but my real Aunt Pam would have been upset so she went. She cheated and brought store bought deviled eggs. When she got there she found a chair and parked it.

Here is the invitation to the Party.
Mommy could hardly get out of bed this morning, so we stayed home. I was just gonna wear my University of Texas cheerleader costume that I wore lat year anyway. Mommy gots something special planned this year for me to wear to The ATDR Halloween Picnic on October 30th. Mommy was disappointed she wouldn't get to see my brother Toby or Bradley, but Aunt Judy called Mommy when it was over and said, they wasn't there so all that crying Mommy did this afternoon was for nothing.

2009 Halloween
I'm really not too mad at Mommy because her calf looks awful and hurts a lot, but she says she's a tough old bird.
Oops!1 It did it again. I gave Mommy a raspberry because I wasn't gonna get to go but then she said  she would stay outside and play with me for awhile. It has been cool in the mornings lately so it was fun being outdoors with Mommy.
Of course, you know the first thing I did. I had me a good roach!! Mommy took a cute little video of me roaching and of course it wouldn't load so I have decided to set the stage for you.

#1....find just the right spot......nope this ain't it.....so I hopped over to the next planter.
#2....check for rocks and thorns....look for the most smelly spot.
 #3....start with a head rub................

 #4.... Then Roll and Roach!!

Sandra called Mommy at work and said that she thought Megan had a hernia, so Mommy went over there after work to check it out. So the first set of pictures were taken that day.

The puppies are now 6 weeks old!!

As you can see the puppies are now eating puppy food and are ready to be weened but they still want Shelby's milk. We call them the little vultures because they are chewing Shelby to pieces.
Mommy was sitting on the couch and Shelby jumped on the couch to have some Shelby alone time with Mommy and get away from the little vultures but as you can see in these pictures they are never very far away.

MEGAN Yep!! Sure looks like a hernia.
The following puppy pictures are very important ones of everybody but Pattie Cake. Mommy will tell you why in our next post.

The following pictures were taken yesterday. The pups had their first round of shots, exams and more deworming medication. Dr Briles also gave each puppy it's short record and a  puppy starter kit to Sandra. The pups were not very happy leaving their Mommy but they will all be leaving soon.
 A crate load of puppies.

 Mommy and Megan.
 Spirit

 Megan
and Petey........they do everything together, guess that's why he's got a hernia now too.
The boys.

Finally, can we go home now?
The minute they got back home, they latched onto Shelby. Dr Briles said they need to be separated from Shelby since they don't need her milk anymore. Look!! Shelby is giving the puppies the raspberry too.

Sandra tried putting Shelby in her crate alone for a little while but.................

the little vultures whimpered and whined so much and Shelby wanted out so..........
here we go again.
Shelby and Pattie sharing a last kiss and talk. Pattie Cake was the first born and will the first to go. Yesterday she was going to her forever home. The best part is that her new Mommy lives in the same neighborhood as Sandra and she will will be able to watch her grown into adulthood without ever having to go through what her brave Mommy went through. Mommy hopes shem can see her sometimes too.
PATTIE CAKE
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all....Mona

PS. ...Please wish Mommy luck on Tuesday.

I'm so happy that Patty Cake has her furever home already. That's really wonderful.

But...I'm so sorry about your Mom's leg. Blog Mom hurt hurs last July, while adopting Franklin and it took furever to heal. It was a tendon, too, plus a calf muscle. In fact it's not quite finished. We missed out on a number of events, too. I hope yours is a better healer than mine.

lotsa licks, Lola

Oh Mona! That is NOT good about your momma's booboo! Mom is adding her to her prayer list...please update us when she goes to the doc..we are crossing everything we have over here that your mom will heal in NO TIME at all!!
My "momma" Emily (an Aussie) had a bad umbilical hernia. It didn't cause her any problems and she got it fixed when she was spayed.

PS: I can't wait till we can meet up - mom is free every weekend!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mommy's leg! I have issues with my hip so I feel for her hearing that it's hard to walk. I hope this won't require surgery.

I was just thinking about the puppies last night and how they'll be big enough soon to leave Shelby and was sad because we won't get to see them anymore.

Spirit is my favorite of the bunch.

Good luck tomorrow! We'll be thinking about you!

Gosh, the puppies are so very much adorable! I can't believes the puppies are leaving already. I thought they had to be like 8 or 10 weeks old. Haha! Shows you how much I know (and I was a mama!). That's Most Wonderful that Pattie Cake has already found her furever home and that Sandra will be able to watch her grow up. I hope they all get the bestest homes EVER!

I hope your mom's leg feels better. Looks painful. :(

Those pups grew up SO fast. I can't believe they don't need their momma already. Where did the time go?
