SHELBY, MY TIGER & ME

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Love is like playing the piano. First you must learn to play by the rules, then you must forget the rules and play from your heart."

Hi dearest friends,

Mommy is gonna give all of you the latest up dates on MY Tiger & Shelby, then I get to take over.

Mommy here....

This morning I went over to see Shelby and Tiger. Mona was not happy because she wanted to see Tiger but we didn't think it would be a good idea. I don't know what to say about Shelby. It is unbelievable how FANTASTIC she looks. I wish you all could see her in person. The sweetness, trust, love and heart she has shines like a brilliant star. She knows her name now and came right up to me and gave me a big kiss.

Look at that face and body now. She is gaining weight and is starting to look the way a healthy pettie should look. Her hair is almost grown back now. I don't even notice her eye anymore, I'm so busy looking here over.
Remember the raw spots on her butt? You can't hardly even see them anymore.
She hasn't met the other dogs yet. Sandra doesn't want to rush it since she still seems to get scared when she hears them bark. She has her own room, where she has a big crate on one side to come in and out of, a big area with nice comfy blankets with lots of toys around and this rocker. She sleeps wherever she wants, mostly in the rocker at night.
Here Shelby is with Sandra or Mommish as the petties and wee ones call her. She is exhausted, now with 2 sick pups, I am really worried for her heath.
Tiger is so much better. The first 24 hours are long over and Sandra was finally able to get some rest yesterday. Shelby is sleeping on her own now so, Sandra was able to sleep in her own bed, Friday night & last night. She is keeping Tiger in a cage next to her bed and he is staying in the bedroom during the day. Poor little Lucky misses her brother so much and he gets so excited when he sees her, that she has to keep them out of sight of each other.
Mona sent a present for her love and I held him while Sandra put it in his cage. He was giving me kisses and licking my face but is such a wiggle worm that he had to go back into his cage right away.
Mona's gift was made by Diana with some fleece material and a thick foam padding. It even has a slit in the middle that is like a attached blanket he can slip under. Diana & Judy are going to make them for ATDR.
Here he is settling down and trying out his gift. "I laid on it before I sent it over, so my Tiger wouldn't forget me".....Mona
Tomorrow, we are taking him to Mona & Shelby's vet, to have his bandages changed and see how he is healing. The Emergency Room doctor said it would take 4 to six weeks for the hole in his lung to close, if it closes on it's own.  I will be reporting tomorrow after his appointment.
Mona here.........

I don't know why I can't go see my Tiger. I love him and would never do anything to hurt him.Well anyway I sent my perfume, "Ode De Mona" on his pressie.

When Mommy got home yesterday afternoon she brought me a pressie that Susan bought for me and all the other doggies.

It's a Snausage cowpoke and says "SNAUSAGES" real loud when you press his belly.

I, of course, added him to my stuffy collection.
As you can still see, Big Pinkie Boo, is my #1 stuffy and always will be. Yes, Mommy restuffed him for me again.
When Mommy came back from her sick visit today, she let me play outside because if was kinda overcast but it never did rain. It was 99 here yesterday...not good for man or beast, so Mommy wouldn't let  me stay out long. "Hey, Mom, isn't it about time to cut the grass again?"
"Mommy!!  what's this?
Mommy loves my tail! She says when it's flying in the wind she doesn't worry about my arthritis.
"Hey, who are you? Find your own yard to play in!!"
Mommy her again.....

I will be taking Mona for her 3 month cancer followup tomorrow morning. She's fine, I just know it but I'm still worried but that's just what I do. Be back tomorrow with reports on both Tiger and my girl.

Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all.....Mona & the Mommy

Poor Tiger! Being wrapped up like that in the middle of summer must be awful.

Wow, Shelby looks like a brand new dog. So happy she is doing so much better.

Very happy to hear that Tiger is doing better as well.

Good luck at the 3 month appointment. It has to be good news, you have had enough bad in your life lately. Time to turn things around, right?
