RELIANT DOG SHOW DOGGIES AND MY BUTT

                                                        QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"You just never know how your presence will add to
 another's life!"

Hi friends,

Mommy didn't get to see Shelby this weekend because we went to the Reliant Dog Show Saturday and then I got to feeling bad and she didn't want me to be alone. But the Pettie Pack @ http://kissa-bull.blogspot.com
did a post on Thursday with a picture of Shelby wearing one of Bella's bandannas from her beau Tucker. Their computer is still dead but Sandra did a post on her cell phone. Shelby goes back to the Vet on July 31st, and Mommy will post lots of pictures then and post an update on her condition.
Shelby, looking good girl!

OK, let's clear up all this foolishness about me being sick before we go back to the dog show.
Mommy took this picture of me with my  tail tucked between my legs....my tail is always flying in the wind so she knew something must be wrong. Aunt Judy started squeezing my butt and a bunch of stinky, nasty stuff came out of my butt. Then she gave me a pain pill she had from when one of her fosters got spayed.
Afterwards all I wanted to do was sleep. The next morning Mommy decided we wouldn't go back to the dog show so we came home and did nothing all day but rest.

I went to Dr Briles, this morning and he looked me over with a fine tooth comb. There was nothing left in my anal glands and he said that wasn't the problem. When
Mommy told him whenever she or Aunt Judy lifted my tail, I would cry, he said I gots Arthur-RI-Tis, like Mommy has. OH NO, that's an old person's problem not me!!

So now I gotta take Rimadyl for four days and then as needed. He said if the medicine didn't solve the problem, he would do an X-ray of my butt. I started prancing around but he said I still gots to take the medicine. He told Mommy to try to limit my jumping up of stuff....."it ainted gonna happen, I live to jump!"
So you see, I am fine!!

Back to the Reliant Dog Show.

Here are pictures of some of the dachshunds we saw there and some that were fosters of ATDR.
This little fella was paralyzed at birth and was adopted by one of our volunteers who works with special needs dogs.
Bandit, Aunt Judy's piebald.
Roddy & Callie Marie
They took over the kissing booth after I gave out.

Mommy was kinda embarrassed because she still has a big bruise on her face so she stayed close to the ATDR booth calling folks over to buy my kisses. "She sold 2 kisses of her own and them guys that got cheeky with her didn't seem to care."

Of course we saw lots of dogs and a lot of them looked like some of you guys. Mommy took a bunch of pictures, so here are a few. Some of them are kinda dark, so you might need to blow them up to see them better. I was disappointed because I didn't see any Khyra dogs.
The Basset Rescue group was right by our booth and guess who Mommy saw with this basset hound. Dr Ruth Ainsworth, my Vet before Dr Briles. They started hugging each other and then she took me out of the kissing booth and held me for 30 minutes. It was the only break I got from 10am until I gave out a 3pm.

Well that's it for the 2010 Reliant Dog show. On my next post, I'm gonna show you some pictures of Aunt Judy's doggies, after all what is a post without pictures of my best friends and Mommy's Georgie.

Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}}....Mona

I'm glad you're feeling better. Arthritis is no fun. My sister Cali has it but she only takes some herbal treatments for now.

What a great dog show! So cute dogs but you are the cutest we saw in those pictures!

Wow Mona what a dog show - that looks like it was so fun! We are glad you are feeling ok but it stinks that you have arthritis and have to take medicine for it! We hope it isn't too bothersome so you don't need to get your butt xrayed!

When mom picked me up yesterday from getting my ear worked on again they told her limit my activity. I'm a Ridgeback...hello! I'm an active dog. Mom just laughs when they tell her that. Of course they all know me and laugh when they tell mom to keep me quiet. You go girl!

I'm sorry to hear you have arthritis. I've heard it can be excrusiating sometimes. I'd say use it to your advantage and get all the loves, cuddles and kisses you can out of it!

That dog show really looks like a lot of fun!
