SAMANTHA

The Rainbow Bridge to Heaven

HEAVEN'S DOGGIE - DOOR

My best friend closed his eyes last night, as his head was in my hand.

The doctors said he was in pain, and it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through my head, as I cradled him in my arms.

Were of his younger, puppy years, and OH... his many charms.

Today there was no gentle nudge with an intense "I love you gaze",

Only a heart that's filled with tears remembering our joy filled days.

But an angel just appeared to me, and he said to me " you should cry no more,

GOD also loves our canine friends,

He's installed a "doggie door".

Hi dearest friends,

I am so proud of my Mommy. She only cried once today, when we first got up and then they were so busy at work that she didn't have time to cry but kept looking at Samantha's picture in her new frame and she smiled most of the day. Of course she had to show my big sister's picture to everybody that walked by. This picture was taken when Samantha was about 3 years old. She was on Mommy's recliner taking the cure. What is the cure? The cure is Mommy's heating pad, that she uses every day of her life, she's got a bad back ya know. Whenever Mommy would get up to do anything, Samantha would jump up in the chair, smooth the heating pad down and lay on it until Mommy came back. If you look real hard you can see one of the many heating pads Samantha & Mommy wore out in the 14 1/2 years they were together.

Mommy's desk at work also has a picture of me and my brother Jacks on it. Yesterday Mommy went to Pets Mart and bought another frame, just like Samantha's, and she is gonna put my picture in it, so she can have both her girls with her at all times.

Also 2 Samantha lookalikes go everywhere Mommy & I go. She was given these when Samantha was still alive and they are off limits to me, they are very special to Mommy.

Samantha is the reason, I am with my Mommy now. After Samantha had to leave for the Rainbow Bridge, and Mommy was so very sad, she found out about DROH and adopted me. The rest is history. My Mommy loves me and she will never give me up. I am her girl now and I know that Samantha is still in her heart but Mommy has a very big heart and there is plenty of room for both of her girls in it.

I wish I could have known Samantha. I know I would have loved her just like Mommy does.
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all.....Mona

I know what you mean; Moms (and Dads) always have room for more love in their hearts without ever forgetting the ones that came before.

Samantha was a beautiful girl, wasn't she? And we know how much Mom misses her. What a beautiful frame she found for her lovely photo. We think there must be a lot of Samantha in you, Mona - that's why you are so sweet.

Awwww. You are so nice to your mommy.

Guess what we did yesterday? Went to the pound (UGH. If anyone is in the market for a pit bull, I know where you can choose from about 100) to look at a gray wire haired dachshund! She looked JUST LIKE MISS MONA! She loved me, too, I must say. But, we noticed her tag said "returned" and asked why - she's very aggressive w/other doggies so we couldn't get her. But for a little bit there, I had visions of me with my own Mona! :)

Well, that is so much more meaningful now. You are there with your mommy because of Samantha! This is beautiful and don't you guys ever forget. Good girl, Samantha, looking out for those left behind.

Mona,
It's kinda like that in my house. My big sister Sylvie was the queen. I know I am the princess of this house, and Mommy loves me very much. My sister Sylvie was 16 years and 10 months old when she moved away, and she moved away 3 years and 29 days ago. Sylvie was Mommy's princess for 14 years. Please tell your Mommy that she is not alone. There are other Mommies like her that love and miss fur - children that have moved to heaven.
