Please don't eat me Mr Horsie

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "My dog is usually pleased with what I do because she is not infected with the concept of what I "should" be doing."
-- Lonzo Idolswine

Hi friends,

Hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got your fair share of turkey. I got turkey on turkey day and yesterday too....I must say that it was even better yesterday and Mommy made a big pot of soup with the carcass but she says "none for you" because she put onions in it and all the meat came of the bones. If you ask me it is a terrible waste of big old turkey bone, but nobody asked me. "Mona, you know chicken and turkey bones are bad for you."

We had a wonderful day, it was beautiful, cool but not cold, the perfect day to be outside. Mommy and Chris came outside, while Aunt Tina was cooking, and watched me, Mr Grins, Gordo and Baby Girl played. Then we had fantastic feast, just like the one in the picture above. Then everybody took a nap, of course I had to share Mommy's lap with Baby Girl, but she had plenty of room after all she ate. Everything was going so well and then it happened. Chris wanted to go visit her daughter and since they have horses there, Mommy was ready to go. I should have stayed behind but I was afraid Mommy might not come back, so I went too and so did Baby Girl.

BIG, BIG MISTAKE!!

Oreo, one of the miniature horses tried to eat me!! As soon as I hopped out of the car, he chased me under the car. I was terrified and guess what Mommy did?
She laughed at me!@! Yes, me, her baby!@!! I'm not Samantha!! I do not like horses.

Then he brought reinforcements.

She didn't try to eat me, she was just trying to eat grass.

Do I look scared, or what?

Finally Lindsey came to rescue me but that nasty Oreo followed right behind.

She gave me to my mean old Mommy. I was very angry with her but I held on for dear life. They tried to put me in the house with Baby Girl but I whined so much they let me outside and I ran and jumped on Mommy's lap.

Then guess what? Oreo followed us up on the porch and ate the tip of her tennis shoe off. That's what happens....God does not like dirty and Mommy was mean to me.

The dog with Mommy is Buddy. He is my new friend. I like him and so does Mommy as you will see in some of the other pictures.

They have 5 other dogs but they all stayed in the house. No way was I gonna stay in a house with 5 dogs I didn't know. They also had 2 other miniature horses that were very nice. They also have a 23 year old horse named Daisy that used to be a barrel racer but then she lost one of eyes in an accident. All the minatures and Daisy get to stay outside in the backyard but the others horsed have to stay in the paddock but they have 5 acres to run around in.

OK...I can handle that as long as Mommy keeps me away from Oreo.
BUT NO!!!!! Mommy wants to see the big horses, so Lindsey says she would bring them out. Has Mommy lost her mind!! "I am not Samantha Mommy!! Please can we go home now or can you lock me in the car?" So much for that idea.

OK, something about my Mommy you might not know. She has always loved horses but she never had one of her own but her cousins did and Mommy would just watch them for hours. I guess I can't blame her for having such a good time. It shouldn't always be about me. Mommy said this was the best Thanksgiving she has had since the boys, my brothers, had to go away.

When I wasn't in Mommy's lap, I was in Tina's. Mommy was actually kisses on them horsies, even Oreo. For once Mommy smelled like horse and not dog.

Off, you guys, she's my Mommy!

Hey you guys, I'm under here!

Remember I asked Mommy if she had lost her mind. I think she has.!! I'm gonna let her tell you why.........take it away M Mommy.....

"Well, when I was a child, I was something of a loner. My little sister was so far behind the rest of us in age so that left the 3 wild and wholly Ricca girls and the two Morris cousins to run wild in the country where the Morris family loved. My
cousin Loretta was the oldest and then my sister Frances was a year younger.
They were a team. Then there was me, a year younger, the one in the middle. Then my sister Pam was next, a year younger than me and last was my cousin Shirley a year younger than me. They were a team. That me, the odd man out, so that's how I became a loner but I wasn't lonely because, as long as I had a book to read, I was fine. An example.........2 bicycles + 5 girls = 1 girl doing the walking.

So one day, they was riding and I was walking, when we got to the Crows farm and they had a old mule. Mikey Crow was always daring us to do things. The others girls always refused to but nobody ever dared me that I didn't accept. So Mikey dared me to ride the mule. How hard could that be? He was just an old mule and I'd ridden horses before. So I tried to get on by I was too short and he would not stand still. So I got off, mad of course, and pulled his tail. He kicked me in the head and broke my glasses. I went out like a light. When I work up, I had a dent on the right side of my head above my eyebrow. In those days in the 50's, you didn't go to the doctor, grandma was all the doctor you needed. After that whenever that mule saw me coming, he'd run across the field. What can I say, I was only 10 at the time."

Maybe that's why Mona thinks I have lost my mind. Maybe some of my brains came out. What do you think?

One last set of pictures to share.

ZOOOOOOOOOMIES!

Mommy got one of Nancy's bandanas for me so I would be pretty for Thanksgivings.....it is pretty. I have two for Christmas too.

I had a wonderful half day and Mommy had a wonderful whole day this Thanksgiving but I was so tired that I was so happy to see my big brown chair when we got back home. I slept there all night long.

Hope you enjoyed all the pictures, blogger was cooperating for a change so Mommy said ya gotta take advantege when you can.

Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all.....Mona & Mommy too!

this was such a fun post to read, Mona. We could see how frightened you were of Oreo but you got much braver later. We loved seeing all the horses and your mom's story about the mule was so funny - well, sorry she got hurt but she sure told that mule.
