SUNDAY, DOGGIE MODELS AND AT JUDY'S

QUOTE OF THE DAY: (courtesy of Mango, my Mastiff friend)

"DOGS love their friends and bite their enemies, quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure LOVE and always have to mix love and hate in their...relations."
-- Sigmund Frued

(and Dexter, Mango's little brother, a.k.a. Pee Wee

Hi friends,

When I was trying to decide what to post tonight, Mommy realized that what we wanted to talk about, the models from the benefit on Saturday, the dogs at the stuffing of the envelopes for the Halloweener Party on Sunday, and my visit with Aunt Judy's boys and Brooklyn, all had one thing in common. All the doggies on this post except Mango and Pee Wee are all rescues, adopted from rescue groups or shelters, and those desperately seeking their forever homes. So Mommy wants all of you to hear this song, so please click on the link below, close your eyes and listen with your hearts.

It's all about rescue. Like my Uncle Ron's said he made 14 choices.

First off back to the SPCA benefit on Saturday. As most everybody knows, my Mommy has no shame, so she invited herself into the holding area for the dogs that modeled in the show. Before the show she just went in and said we was gonna do a post for DWB and needed to take some pictures. Since all the dogs that did the modeling were available for adoption or already adopted, they let her stay.......knowing my Mommy she wouldn't have taken no for a answer.
So here are the pictures she took since the pictures of them modeling were so awful.

Next is Sunday at the stuffing party, well not really a party but they do eat and drink and have fun. Mommy explained again that the only reason I didn't get to go was because of the snake issues. I asked Mommy why she lets me go to the country to visit my Sammy where there are lots of snakes but not to Suzanne's anymore. She said: Because she can watch me in the country and Aunt Mary has a shotgun!! Enough said but I think the real reason is this doggie.
FRODO
She's not fooling me. That's her next to him and I would have been jealous because he is Mommy's favorite over there and he's not even a dachshund. Mommy's says, a dog is a dog is a dog!!

This is Sophie, one of the dogs that got snake bite. Nothing wrong with her, she bounced right back.

This is Daisy #2, the other dog that got bite. She got bite worse than Sophie and still has a scar on the side of her nose. She was very lucky. She is available for adoption.

These two are Chipolti and Lulu wrestling. They are both available for adoption.

Frodo cheating on the Mommy with Becky, but that's OK, cause she is the lady that fosters Bradley and brings him for play dates with me and Aunt Judy's gang.

This is Theresa, she is the lady that fostered my brother Toby, until he got readopted.

Moving on to my visit with George, Harley, Bandit and Brooklyn. We didn't take any pictures outside, you will see why at the end of these pictures. But of course I have to show a few shots of me and my best friends.

ME

GEORGE

HARLEY

BANDIT AND BROOKLYN

This is why no outside pictures......Mommy conked out asleep and snoring, or so Aunt Judy said. They always take naps when they come back from running around. It's always me and George on Mommy's lap......her two most favorite doggies, me and George, in the world.....or at least in the city.

And lastly George waking Mommy up with a kiss.

Before I share a few videos, Mommy wants to introduce you to her cousin Veta Nell.
She was 80 years old Saturday. She is the only one of the older generation left and she knows everything about our family and is sharing all the family stories with the now generation, which includes my Mommy.

And please welcome the next generation of Bono's, Mommy's Mommy's maiden name, and his parents. This is Joseph Bono IV, his Daddy is Joseph III and his Mommy. The whole family just met him for the first time Saturday.

Mommy took today off because her cousin Bennie was supposed to have open heart surgery today and his daughter, Sue wanted Mommy to be with her. Sue's son, JD, died at 19 years of age 5 years ago today. The thought of losing her Daddy has her terrified and Mommy wanted to be with the family but the surgery was postponed until tomorrow. Mommy can't be off tomorrow which makes her very sad. Please pray for him and the Mommy.....she's a worrier you know.

Now the videos. This video was taken Sunday after the envelopes were all stuffed. You might want to lower your volume because them ladies are load.

Over at Aunt Judy's house, it has gotten exciting since Brooklyn came to be fostered. Harley was a couch potato before she came and was content to play with balls and toys. Brooklyn has changed all of that because she constantly steels his ball and then the chase is on as you will see in this next video. Don't tell anybody but Aunt Judy wants to adopt Brooklyn but she hasn't told her husband yet.

Had enough? Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}] to all....Mona & the Mommy to!!

Mona, thank you for all those photos, videos and updates. I am sure Mommy loves you tons more than Frodo, but I get jealous of my Mommy too. The snake thing doesnt' sound good anyway.

Your mom is like a force of nature! Nobody says no to her, I guess, right? Good thing she is on your side.

I like to wake up momma with smoochies too when she naps on the couch.

Slobbers,
Mango

Okay, you are the busiest doggie I know! I needed a nap just looking at all of the things you do! We are praying the surgery goes well - how scary that can be.

Hi Mona!
That was a pretty good song, even though we aren't in to country music much, but it has a good message.
And we don't have a picture of Sadie with flower, but if your mom gives us an email address to send it to I will try to get it, our if she wants use to post it to our blog we can do something like that too.
Tell your mom That Sadie said she likes the idea of sharing her name with a lady that is so devoted to dogs, even if it is a nickname.

We sure hope that Bennie is ok.

Great videos! That is one talented pup that can jump up on the back of the couch like that!
