CHRISTMAS VISIT PART 3

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"A dog is one of the few remaining reasons why some people can be persuaded to go for a walk." ------ O. A, Battista

Hi dear friends,

Well Christmas is over and Santa Paws was pretty good to me considering all the anguish I put the Mommy through. The Mommy says my new nickname is "Skunky". The Mommy was picking pictures for this post and she came across this picture of me playing with a stuffie skunk in the country. She thinks it's kinda funny that I would be playing with a skunk and then ending up stinking like one. Whatever......."stop laughing Mommy, it's not that FUNNY".

Now that the Mommy is through making fun of me, lets talk about my Christmas visit with Roxie, Sammy, Andy and their Mommy Mary.
Christmas Day was warm and overcast all day and it didn't change when we got to the country. The sky looked like this the whole time we were in the country and it didn't get cool until Saturday night and downright cold all day Sunday. This picture was taken from the front porch....of course the Mommies were sitting there on the rockers drinking coffee and tea......so what else is new!!

When we got to the country, I was so excited because the house was decorated so pretty and each dachsie had their own stocking hung on the fireplace. Maggie & Jake had their own too but they were in Houston with their Mom. I missed playing with them.

They also had this little Christmas tree decorated with stuffies. Aunt Mary said that she buys new stuffies every year and then at the end of Christmas the dachies get to have them.....How cool is that!!

The Mommy said we couldn't buy a lot of presents this year because she had to pay our car insurance on the 23th but I still got lots of pressies.....mostly treats which was OK by me!!!

Santa Paws brought me this little chicken, that sings "OLD MCDONALD HAD A FARM...E, I, E, I, O!! He kinda got destuffed but he made some pretty snow. I am innocent....Sammy did it. He loved my chicken and would snarl at anybody that tried to take it away from him. So I gave it to Sammy. I thought that maybe if I shared my chicken, the Mommy would forgive for being naughty. Sammy got a little stuffed cow and I really liked it better than my chicken anyway.

The Mommy got some neat stuff. Tina and Chris gave the Mommy these neat footies that have dachshunds on them and she liked them so much she wore them all weekend. Aunt Mary gave her the video The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian which she has been wanting for a long time.

Have you ever noticed that everybody always says Roxie, Sammy and Andy when they talk about Dashies Rule? The reason is because that's the order Aunt Mary got them. Roxie was a gift from a former boyfriend, then she adopted Sammy and then Andy from DROH. Their cousins Maggie and Jake were also adopted from DROH. One of the pictures the Mommy took, accidentally, has them lined up in order. I'm not sure if Sammy is sniffing Roxie's butt or not....he he.

The Mommy has been trying since 6 pm to load a video of Sammy playing with my singing chicken but no luck........We hate blogger video!! It is now 9 pm so the Mommy is giving up on it.
We saw lots of cow dogs, birds, horsies and even a donkey in the country so the Mommy will post pictures of all the animals tomorrow and of course some more pictures of me and my friends. We also had a bomb fire burning trash Sunday morning and it was lots of fun playing around the bomb fire.....not to worry.....every time we got close to the fire, the Mommies would chase us off. We'll post pictures of the bomb fire soon. We also took a bunch of videos & if we can get them to take we'll post them too.
Well that's all for tonight. The Mommy has to work Friday so we aren't going visiting on New Years Day. That means it's just me and the Mommy to start the New Year.....Yahoo!! Yippee!!
Love, kisses and huggis to all.......Mona

Hi Mona,
We are soooo flattered that your mom likes our photo and wants to use it as her screen saver! Please give her a kiss from us..
We love those Christmas stockings!! We need to get our paws on them before the next Christmas, so that gives us another 360days to do it!
You know something Mona, I also gave Hershey the nickname 'Skunkee' when she first came home (cos of her color and markings)... Seems like you 2 have something in common!
Can't believe it's 2009 tomorrow... you and your mommy have made 2008 a better year for us simply by being our friends. Wishing you and your mommy a lovely 2009!

Your friends,
Huskee, Hershey and their mom (Shane)

Mona,

Maybe one of these days we will be able to get our mommies off of the rocking chairs ... though it is kind of nice to know where to find them. We can't wait to see pictures of the bonfire. It wasn't a very big fire but it was nice and warm when the weather was so cold. We keep trying to get Mom to make an entry to our blog but she is so lazy. She says you will tell everyone all of the fun stuff so we don't have to. We think that is not fair since all of our friends want to hear from us too!

Your friends,
Roxie, Sammy & Andy
