WINDING DOWN

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"I look at the radar, check all the instruments, but before I give a forecast I take my dog for a walk; he knows what will happen best." --- Bob Turk, meteorologist

Hi my dear friends,

As I said yesterday, me and the Mommy had a glorious afternoon at Aunt Judy's Saturday and I was exhausted and did something I never do. I fell asleep in the car on the way home. Me who is terrified of riding in the car unless I'm on the Mommy's lap. The Mommy said it was a first.......me actually laying on the sit all the way home. She says, will wonders never cease!! All I know was that the Mommy had to carry me into the house and put me in my favorite spot. I woke up long enough to settle down just the way I wanted and slept until the Mommy carried me to bed at 9 pm.

Don't I look sleepy?

See my little pink tongue.

Zzz!!! zzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

Out like a light.

Now for some exciting news. The Mommy found out today that Uncle Ron, Pea Daddy's Daddy, is coming from Putnan Texas for the Halloweiner Party and Aunt Shelly, Jacks's new Mommy, is coming from Indiana too. It probably won't happen but wouldn't it be wonderful if my brothers could come too? The Mommy got to see Peanut whenever she wanted before Uncle Ron & Aunt Deb moved to Putnan and she talks to Aunt Shelly all the time and gets pictures of Jacks all the time too so the Mommy won't be too disappointed if they don't come.
Last year we didn't go to the Halloweiner Party, because the Mommy had to have emergency surgery on her knee, so we didn't get to see any of the Mommy's former fosters but this year the Mommy said nothing is gonna stop her from going. We don't think we'll get to see all of my former foster brothers and sisters but so far the Mommy says that Beckett, Paco (formally Kelso), Ricky & Lucy, Kango & Kizzie, Bradley, Wee Willie, Bobbitt, Samsom and Evander have all confirmed they will be there. October 25th @ 1pm can't come soon enough for the Mommy. My brother Siskle is coming so we are happy about that too. He wasn't at the Spring Fling this year so the Mommy would like to see him again.
But the most special doggie that is coming is my brother, TOBY!!!
His new parents and human brothers and sister sent the Mommy an e-mail that they would like to meet us. The Mommy is so excited. It has been almost a year since she had to give him back to DROH. Remember he got adopted during the summer after Theresa had fostered him for 8 months. The Mommy is afraid she will make a fool of herself crying and hugging him. She is scared he won't remember us. I told her not to worry about that because every doggie she has ever fostered has always remembers her even if we haven't seen them but twice a year.
The Mommy looks just like this silly little girl right now. Every day she's getting more and more excited and I don't know if she will make it until October 26th @ 1 pm. Actually the Mommy did have curly red hair when she was a toddler but I can't imagine her ever being this young or this cute....heehee.

We still haven't been able to get those videos to load but the Mommy said she'll keep trying.
I promise that the next time we can blogger to work loading a video, it will be them first.

My Doofuss Mommy had to watch Dancing With The Stars tonight so we aren't gonna visit much tonight......I ask you, want is more important than my DWB posting. Oh well, she is as old as dirt so we got to let her have some enjoyment once in a while!
Just wanted to tell everybody 2 more things before we say goodnight.
Tiny Tina went to the Pet Fair in Old Town Spring yesterday and made big impression on everybody. Another volunteer with DROH is trying to get her Mother to adopt Tina so off she went to possibility of meeting her new Mommy. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Remember the video we posted about a week or so ago of all the dachshunds Uncle Ron has, pouring out of the doggie door? Well he has added 2 more animals to his family. He sent this picture to the Mommy this weekend.

This is Waylon and Willie.

His e-mail subject was: What else could we do?
The message was & I quote:
The ad in the paper said, "BREED OR BBQ, 4 months old". We sure ain't breedin' and we for sure ain't BBQin'. There names are Willie and Waylon. They come home Oct 27th.....
They Mommy said now he won't have to cut the grass anymore.....hee hee hee!!!
Night, Night.........Love, Kisses and (((Huggies))) to all.....Mona

Wow, you were sure tired, Mona! I like to lie on the cushions on the back of the furniture, too!

The Halloweiner party sure sounds fun! I'm glad you get to see so many of your former foster siblings (and that the Mommy does, too!), and of course, Toby will remember her!

Good news about Tiny Tina, sure hope they adopt her!

Uncle Ron is obviously a super duper guy!

Brown dog kisses,
Dannan

That Halloweiner party sounds like an incredible event! I wish we could come!

Your Uncle is sooo very special to take in goats. LOVED the "eating grass" feature.

Hi Mona
I like the little nest you've made for yourself on the back of the chair. It looks like a great place to sleep. The Hallowiener party sounds like so much fun. I wish I could go in my cow costume & then your mommy could get a Ruby the cow fix.

Love Ruby
