SATURDAY IN THE COUNTRY

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"The dog has seldom been successful in pulling man up to its level of sagacity, but man has frequently dragged the dog down to his." -- James Thurber

Hi my dear friends,

Where do I begin? Me and the Mommy just got home from our trip to the country with Aunt Pam & Uncle Sonny. There is so much to tell you about and so many pictures to show you but again, where do I begin? The Mommy and Dachsies Rule's Mommy took 92 pictures on the Mommy's old camera and I don't know how many on her new camera----she hasn't figured out how to upload it, but don't worry my Aunt Judy is gonna show the Mommy how to do it since it was hers before she sold it to the Mommy. The Mommy is off tomorrow and we are going to my Aunt Judy to see Sadie and finally get Lorenza's prize in the mail. On the new camera we took lots of videos but ya know how slow blogger comes to videos, so we'll show those last.

Before we get started on what us dogs did Saturday afternoon, I'm gonna show you what the humans did. But first --- I have claimed this rocker as my own and since this is my blog, I knew, of course that you all came to see me and would want to to see more than then humans.

This is my Uncle Sonny & Aunt Pam getting ready to go fishing in the tank.

These cows were on one side of the tank....the humans went to the other side of the tank where there was shade and no cows.

The Mommy went to watch, but Uncle Sonny wanted her to catch a fish, so look at the tiny little fish she caught. Then she said she had a big bite and was struggling to reel it in and she caught a big stick that she said was nibbling on the bait....heehee!!!

Then Aunt Pam caught this big old catfish.

Then the Mommy caught this.....a BASS.....can you believe it, my Doofuss caught a big one!!!

OK....enough about the humans!! Lets get down to what ya came to see.....all the dachshunds....all six of us!!

Of course the #1 thing we always do is bark at the cowdogs. There are 5 of us in this picture.

Us doggies can't count, so we really don't know how many cowdogs we saw, but since you have seem so many cowdog pictures on my bloggie & Dashsies Rule's bloggie we aren't showing them all. As you can see, we didn't appear to scare these cowdogs at all.

But then this big Daddy bull came up to the fence and retreat seemed the best action to take.

We stayed outside and barked & played & roached and sniffed around for a while. Then we sat on the deck listening to the Mommies gab and when we got tired of all that talking, we barked & played & roached and sniffed around some more until it got dark and the Mommies forced us to come inside. Remember snakes come out after it gets dark!!! Figure the math, 3 girl doggies, 3 boy doggies and 3 Mommies....guess who won that battle....end of discussion.

We was so tired that all of us took a nap.

US GIRLS

THEN BOYS

Notice which group is the most alert?
Here are a few random pictures the Mommies took Saturday afternoon. The boys treed a squirrel and spend most of there time looking up at the tree but the squirrel never came down. Silly boys, dont they know them rascals jump from one three to another?

This trip to the country was extra special this time because Maggie and Jake were there and whats more fun than 4 dachsies----6 of course!!

There is one problem, and it is the same problem, we have every time we visit the dachsies. Roxie trys to take all the Mommy's sugar away.

Of course I have to show the Mommy that 2 can play that game too. I stole some sugar from Aunt Becky!!!

Just to remind everybody, Roxie, Sammy and Andy (Dashsies Rule) belong to Aunt Mary. Maggie and Jake belong to Aunt Becky and the Mommy belongs to me!!
Gotta go now. Stay tuned for SUNDAY IN THE COUNTRY, tomorrow.
Love, kisses and (((huggies))) to all.....Mona
