RAINBOWS & A NEW BIGINNING

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them." --
Phil Pastoret

Hi our dear friends,

The Mommy & I have decided that we have grieved enough and that there are still so many doggies out there that need our help, so even though we will always miss Jody and still cry almost everyday, we are going to start back doing whatever we can do to help little guys & girls like Jody. Yesterday a lady at work told the Mommy about a little boy dog her husband found where he works that she thinks is a mix--a chiweinee. Tomorrow the Mommy is gonna go see him, evaluate him and hopefully get him in DROH's program. Here we go again. Once you start rescuing it's a hard thing to stop and until the Mommy draws her last breath we will just have to deal with loving and losing.

We all know about the rainbow bridge and the beauty surrounding it. What a fantastic place it most be. The Mommy likes to think of it now with flowers all around, a brook running under it and a rainbow shining over it. Kinda like this picture. She likes to imagine Jody there, with Samantha, Lacy lulu, K8, Thrawn, Oscar, Gizmo, Baby Girl and all the other pets we have lost too soon, running pain free, playing and waiting until we are all together again.

The Mommy hates this picture because she says she looks like a cow but it is our favorite picture of me and Jody. I loved him so much and I think he loved me. He will always be in our hearts along with my sister Samantha.

Of course, you all know how much the Mommy loves her hibiscus plant in the backyard & how upset she was when Hurricane Ike beat it into to ground and broke some of the limbs. You also know how excited she was when the Mommy discovered Ike couldn't kill it. Like she has said before.....out of destruction God gives us a ray of hope & a new beginning. The Mommy took these pictures in the last few days when we have been sitting outside trying to make sense of why things happen the way they do.

The day that Jody was put down my Uncle Neil was very worried about the Mommy because he knows how upset she gets whenever we lose one of our beloved rescues, so he gave her a writing by a lady named Ellen Cuomo. The Mommy loved what it was trying to say so she wants to share it with all of you.
Rainstorms bring rainbows.

Frowns turn into smiles.

Time brings peace of heart.

Reflection brings peace of mind.

Friends bring caring.

Winter brings spring.

Children bring sloppy kisses.

Fears bring healing.

Forgiveness brings freedom.

Mistakes lead to learning.

Night brings morning.

And a sunrise brings new hope.

These are the thoughts that make life bearable and that keep us going.
Again from the bottom of our hearts THANKS for all the support during this very sad time in our lives and for all the other times the DWB family has helped us get through all the curves life has thrown at us.

Here are a couple of the Mommy's most favorite things in the world.

Me and her hibiscus.

Love, kisses and (((huggies))) to all......Mona & the Mommy too!!

Your Uncle provided very cool encouragement!

Your video of you smelling the flowers is so wonderful. Even dogs can take time out of life to smell the flowers. Tooo sweet!

Good luck with your new rescue furbaby! We can't wait to see pictures.

Have a great weekend!
Kisses
