THE HOUSE OF 1000 MIRRORS

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Smile!! Make it a great day!!"

Hi my dear friends,

Today the Mommy wants to share a folk tale that Administration sent to the associates at the hospital today. She thinks once you read read it you will understand the statement it is trying to make. This is more for the Mommies & Daddies then us doggies but after they read this, there is a really funny video of one of the DROH doggies waiting to be adoptd by some lucky family. This tale is long but worth the wait.

The House of 1000 mirrors -- a Chinese folk tale.

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was a place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his was. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 smiles just as warm and friendly. As the left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."

In the same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the doorway. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."

All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet?

Smile!! Make it a great day!!

This adorable little girl is SADIE, did you know the Mommy's nickname is Sadie? Sadie was being fostered by a couple when Hurricane Ike visited and did quite a bit of damage to their home and blew their fence down. There were many foster families that had their fences tore down and damaged beyond repair. One thing you should know about DROH is that, none are dogs are allowed to be placed in a foster home or adopted without a secured back yard. A plea went out to everybody who had every adopted or fostered one of our dogs if they could make room in their homes for these foster that needed somewhere to stay until it was safe to go back to their original fosters. Sadie is staying with my Aunt Judy for now and the video you are gonna see is her doing her favorite thing. Here is the link for the video, Judy put on You Tube:

The Mommy said this is one of the cutest videos she has ever seen of any of our doggies. Sadie is mainly black & tan but she has a lot of dappling so she is being called a dapple.
Guess what? Me, the Mommy, my Uncle Sonny and Aunt Pam are going to the country this weekend. We are going in one car to save on gas. Of course ya all know where. To my best buddies buds at DACHSIES RULE!!! Uncle Sonny and Aunt Pam are going cat fishing in the tank and of course you know what the Mommy and the dachsies Mommy will be doing....sitting on the desk or front porch drinking coffee and gossiping. Me & my friends will be barking, chasing birds & squirrels, napping......sound familiar? Andy & I might even have a little romantic time to ourselves.....heehee!!
The Mommy is taking Monday off so we can take our time coming back Sunday and then we are gonna go visit with Aunt Judy and the boys on Monday, so we can meet Sadie in person. Three nights and counting and then we are outta here!! Yahoo, Yippee!!
The Mommy said we have to close for now because she missed 2 weeks of America's Got Talent because of IKE & tonight is the finale and we can't miss it---what does she mean we?
Love, kisses and (((huggies))) to all......Mona

Thanks for sharing the Chinese folk tale, The House of 1000 mirrors.
Mona, you know what, sometimes you greet someone new with a great warm and friendly smile, and was answered with a cold flat face that made your tail stop wagging.
Cheers!
