HOME ON THE RANGE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

""Dogs can hear sounds octaves above what humans can, but they sure bark on our level." -- Phil Littman

Hi my dear friends,

As promised here are some pictures of us doggies and all kinds of cow dogs roaming around outside the fence. As you could probably tell from yesterday's cow dog picture, I didn't get too close to the fence. The Mommy said she wished, she could have taken a video of me going stark raving mad running all along the fence line. Sammy and Andy were very protective of me cause them big cow dogs was scaring me but the baby cow dogs were kinda cute.

Did you know that every herd only have one bull? The Mommy said that if there was more than one bull, they would fight to the death over all them lady cows. As many cows as I saw, you would think they could share. This is the big Daddy bull. He was cooling off in the tank where all the catfish are. Hope he didn't step on any.

These are some of the lady cows. The tank is behind them. When the Big Daddy is in the tank it is off limits.

Notice, no Mona in this picture.

or in this picture.

We thought this was the bull until it stood up. It must be the Queen Cow cause she hardly ever did anything but sit under some trees. The Mommy didn't know that lady cows had horns too....What a Doofuss!

Notice, I'm back in this picture but way back from the fence.

These are pictures of baby cow dogs with their Mommies. There weren't any really small calves because these were born early in the cow dropping season.

This is the cow that almost kissed the Mommy. She was standing real close to the fence when she took this shot and just as she snapped the picture, the cow reached it's head over the fence and the Mommy almost got a big wet one, YUKE!!

One last picture. These two cows starting butting heads and the Mommy told us to come away from the fence cause them cows was cussing at each other. The Mommy thinks they was fighting over Big Daddy.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. I think I don't really like cow dogs but they sure are fun to bark at.
Love. Kisses & (((huggies)))...Mona

You look so tiny standing by the fence. Those cows could squish you.

Mona,

The big bull came close to the fence this morning so we had to bark at him and chase him away. We sure wished you could have been here to help. He walked all around the fence and to the tank but he didn't go into it this time.

Thanks for teaching us so much about cowdogs. I think I understand the one across the street from us now. There's only 1 right now and he's not there very often. He looks like the one in your picture of the queen. The one across from my house is definately a boy. When I see the cowdog I bark and bark and bark. Mom says I'm not supposed to, but after reading your post about codogs, I definately know I'm supposed to bark. Mom says it's a good thing the cowdog isn't directly up against our fence like at the dachsie's house. Mom says she knows she'd go crazy if it was that close.

G'day Mona

Thanks for dropping by to visit me. Sorry I wasn't home when you got there! ;-)

Do you think maybe that boy cowdog was angy with the girl cowdog because she dropped the little cowdog and it got hurt?

Cheers
