"They never talk about themselves, but listen to you while you talk about yourself and keep up an appearance of being interested in the conversation." -- Jerome K. Jenkins
Hi my dear friends,
Well it has happened again. ROXIE, over at Dachsies Rule got bitten again Monday night. This is the third time she has gotten bitten by one of them nasty copperheads. Sammy and Andy were barking at something up a tree & when their Mom went to check it out, they came running when she hollered at them to stop. Roxie wasn't with the boys and she didn't do any barking. Mary says she thinks Roxie was looking for a place to do her business close to the bushes when she got bitten. She came limping around the corner of the house and when Mary checked her all over she found 2 small bite marks on her upper leg. So back to Texas A & M they went again but she didn't have to stay overnight this time. She is on antibiotics and pain meds. Roxie is a very strong girl, like me, so she will be okee dokee!!
Mary sent the Mommy an E-mail today to let her know what had happened and that there IS another snake around so when we come we have to be very careful. I told the Mommy that I am a very brave little girl and no old snake is gonna keep us from visiting our friends. We will be leaving Friday afternoon & won't be back until Monday afternoon. My bag is packed by the door but the Mommy hasn't packed anything yet......What is her problem!!!
Now for an award. The Mommy is giving this award to every doggie, kitty cat, hamster & wheelie on DWB because you are all what makes the end of a tiring day worth coming home to, besides me of course. No matter how sad the Mommy might be, you always make her smile and even though she might not comment on every blog she reads, she does read them and smiles & giggles a lot. You also make the Mommy cry sometime but that's OK too because that what a family does.
The Mommy got an e-mail from the Humane Society of American a few days ago about a huge PUPPY MILL that was shut down in Virginia--the Mommy had already heard about it from HAPPY--where over 1000 dogs, some only days old, we kept. Many were dachshunds like me and it made the Mommy cry to think that these puppy mills are everywhere. Remember JODY came from a puppy mill. She wishes all those doggies could and will find the kind of loving homes we all have. There was a video showing the rescue---here is the link---hope it works.
Love, Kisses & (((Huggies))) to all.....Mona & the Mommy too!!
