OPPS -- SORRY -- MY FINGER SLIPPED AGAIN!

Mona here:
Well friends there goes that finger again. I might have to type the rest of the Mommy's story for her so please forgive the Doofuss and read the first part of
"MY FIRST SUMMER HAIRCUT" on the previous post before reading this one.

The Mommy here again:
To continue..........(she had to have everything the boys got). She got it away from him and ended up having sticky (impossible to remove) black gluey stuff all in her hair. Needless to say her hair was all matted and she looked like a tar baby. As you can see from her before picture being a wire hair she was a mess. I tried to clean her off as best I could with no luck. I called Pets Mart, talked to her groomer and she said to bring her in in the morning. Needless to say she stayed in the kitchen that night & not in bed with me and the others dogs.

I had noticed that Bradley, my foster at the time, had stayed on the couch most the the night chewing on his cow hoof rolled up inside his blanket. I didn't think much about it because I could see his nose poking out from under the blanket while he was chewing his hoof. When it was time for bed, I called him and he didn't come to bed. I went to get him and his left paw was stuff to the glue tray, his hoof was stuff to glue tray as well as the edge of his blanket and the little "pistol"
was trying to get the hoof off the glue. How the trap got on the couch I have no idea. I should have realized when he didn't come to dinner, something wasn't right. Giving up was never an option for Bradley, the would have worked on that hoof until it had come off or died trying. I had no trouble cleaning him off because he has smooth black hair.

Then there was my Jacks. My sweet little boy that didn't get into mischief like everybody else.

Mona's groomer, Shelly, said it was hopeless. There was no way they could get the glue off without scalping her. The boys checked her out from top to bottom when we got home and I know they thought, if we only have one foster at a time and we still had Bradley, who was this new bald headed dog and where was their sister?

Actually it took quite a while to get used to the new Mona, but it has grown on me and the family. I also believe she likes it better because in this 100 degree Texas heat, she is a lot cooler. During the winter, I let her hair grow longer but not near as long as it was before the mouse adventure.

The moral to this story to all the Mom's out there is:
"don't put anything past your children and DON'T LEAVE ANY FURNITURE HIGH ENOUGH TO JUMP ON CLOSE TO THE BAR"

Mona here:
Go ahead and laugh your heads off.....I can hear you!!!

Love ya all Mona and the Mommy too!!

We are laughing just a tiny bit Mona. Sasha has to get a summer haircut too. She is supposed to ba a smooth hair and has the smooth ahir face, but the wiriest wirey hair ever!! It's so thick that a creature could live in there an nobody would know about it. Sasha loves to roll inthe dirt in the summer and all that stuff goes deep into her coat and then it drives Mom crazy when she pets Sasha and gets a hand full of dirt and weeds. She gets a very very short haircut for the summer to help with the dirt thing, but also because her fur is so think, she gets too hot too fast. Plus, the first summer Mom and Dad lived in our house, Sasha got a fox tail weed seed stuck in her throat and it got infected after she pulled it out of her fur. With shorter fur, Mom can see the seeds and get them out before Sasha tried to get them out. It takes me a couple days to get used to Sasha after she gets groomed, especially because they use perfume on her an she doesn't smell right.
Love

Mona! I can't believe how long your hair used to be! You had luxurious hair back then....of course you still look amazing with shorter hair. Wow, what a funny mouse story, and you are right I am laughing a little. I am sure you were happy to get that sticky stuff off your furs! We all get into messes sometimes, don't we?
