SPRING FLING STUFFING PARTY DOGGIES

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made''.
--- Roger Caras

Hi my dearest doggie, kitty and hammie friends,

Another glorious day and Mommy has been home with me all day, except when she went for breakfast around 11 am. I wanted to go but she said Denny's wouldn't let me in but she would bring me something back. Boy oh Boy, did she!!!

She brought me the bone from her T-bone steak she had and left me lots of meat still on it. Of course she had to sit outside while I chewed on it to make sure I didn't choke or anything. Dang it, there was still a lot more chewing I could have done but when all the meat was gone, she took it away. It was yummylicious!!

Since Mommy took today off, she had lots of time to load pictures, so sit back and relax because there are a lot of them, all taken Saturday, but a few things first.

We changed the DROH dog of the week today and Mommy cried when she read Nancy's story so she picked her. Puppy Mills have to stop!!! So do Backyard Breeders too, like the one Nancy came from. Please read her story on the top of my sidebar.

Yesterday, was my last snow post and today we are moving towards Spring. Mommy wants to start to see flowers blooming everywhere. So tomorrow we are going to start posting flowers again. If any of you doggies, kitties or hammies wants to share a favorite picture of flowers with or without you in it, please send them to me at redricca@sbcglobal.bet. Happy's lovey Mommy, has sent us lots of pretty flowers to post since all ours got lost when our computer went to the "Dell" graveyard. Not even one picture of Mommy's beloved hibiscus was saved. "That's Mommy you hear sobbing in the background."

These are the kind of pictures, Mommy wants to see, like my dear wire hair friend, Matilda, in a field of flowers.......

or a pot of fantastic Navy Lobelias like Maggie and Mitch have or had.......

or these pink roses that Copper's had at his house.
Now to Saturday's stuffing, kinda party.

In this picture you see one of the welcoming committees that greeted any new arrivals. The greeting committee changed off & on because all of us had to take our turn making sure nobody got in that didn't belong in. It is hard work being a greeter and very tiring. Let me introduce you to some of the many dachshunds that were there and of course Emily Ann, the Scottie.

Giselle, who was last week's DROH dog of the week.
Lula Prudence

Winnie

Mel (short for Melanie) Emily Ann
Sophie

Mandy Jo
Brooklyn
Frodo

A few misc doggie pictures. How many dogs can you count in this picture?

And some of our wonderful DROH volunteers.......

Kat with her girl, Mel.

Frodo with Mommy. There she goes giving her kisses away again.

Aunt Judy and her little girl, Brooklyn

Becky, Mandie Jo's foster.

Paula
All that barking at the new arrivals was very tiring so while they the ladies were working stuffing the envelopes, I took a little nap.

"Mommy, wake me when it's time to eat!"
"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

The ladies did work, they really did. They do this twice a year and have done it forever so they got it done in about 3 hours and then it was time to party. No pictures of food this time but it's always the same, pulled pork with flour or corn torteas with all the trimmings. Yummylicious, but none for us. They can be so stingy these women!!

Just to prove they did work, here are a few pictures. Mommy worked too, believe it or not, but there was so many volunteers there that, Mommy volunteered to let someone take her place after awhile, so my friends could love on her. Very hard work......Not!!!

We always have such a good time at these stuffings and Mommy gets so excited to see all the pups. A dog is always a pup and doesn't matter what kind of dog it is or how old. She held Emily Ann for a long time and told her that Susie doesn't want her to be sad because their Mom, Brinda, needs her to be a brave girl.
Had enough yet? That's it for tonight.

LESSONS FROM ALICE IN WONDERLAND
The Dodo: Have a plan.

The Dodo tells Alice and the other creatures that survive Alice's flood of tears, to have a caucus race to see who can get try first but after a half hour he declares the race over and everybody a winner. And who really won? In the real-world contests, be it personal or proffesional, it helps to know where your starting, what your goal is, and to have a strategy to get there. Because without a plan, you run the risk 0f some Dodo telling you to stop before your done and they will never be a winner or a prize.
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all...........Mona

It is great that you guys can get so many people to help you out. It is hard to find good volunteers. :)
