QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"A kitten is the rosebud in the garden of the animal kingdom." -- Robert Southey
Hi dearest friends,
This weekend was glorious! Sunny and not a drop of rain in sight. It even got up to almost 80 degrees today. Mommy & I went to the Spring Fling envelope stuffing, kinda like party, with Aunt Judy and Brooklyn. The boys didn't go. Then we spent the night. Remember, on my last post, I said Mommy messed up our camera? Of course you do! Well finally, Mommy decided to get the instruction book out and, for a change, actually follow the directions. The pictures are fantastic, but ya don't get to see a lot of the pictures of all the dachshunds that were at the stuffing yesterday until tomorrow. WHY?? Because my Doofuss Mommy forgot to bring the the battery charger with us and just as we was getting ready to upload the pictures, the exhausted battery signal came out. That means no outside pictures from today either.
The battery is charging now so tomorrow, we will post all the doxie pictures, well not all, because she took like 100 or so. So tonight, there are a few pictures I do want to show you, taken by Aunt Judy and Brinda. I also have a special prayer request for a special doggie and for Brinda's loss.
BUT first...............
Tonight is our last feature on DWB snow dogs. Winter might not be quite over all over the world but it is for us, "please, please say it's over for us Sweet Baby Jesus". Mommy is so ready for Spring and today we saw some flowers growing on the side of the freeway......"well they weren't really flowers but very pretty yellow weeds that could pass for flowers". We would like to thank all my friends for allowing us to use their snow pictures but we still have a few we still want to show you, pictures we had copied but ran out of time to post. Of all the snow pictures Mommy copied, her most favorite was of Miss Asta, so we saved her for the last, but we couldn't not share the others pups. So here they are:
One of The Mullin Clan.
Keiko Autumn
Maggie and Mitch
Paco, Milo and Maya Ivy
Now I would like to ask all my DWB friends to please pray for Mandie Jo. You have seen her many times on my blog when we have had our dachsie play dates. She just got out of the hospital, after a whole week. She had diarrhea very bad and had to have intravenous fluids and then they found out she has worms, "thank, the Lord, it wasn't heart worms". She was so small anyway but she has lost so much weight and you can feel her backbone. She came to spend the week with Aunt Judy, while her fosters are in Canada.
This is Becky, her foster Mom, who has fostered her for more than 2 years now. Mandi Jo is one of DROH's senior dogs and she is available for adoption. There have been several potential adopters that have shown a interest in her but as soon as they hear about all her medical problems, they don't want the responsibility of taking care of her. She has cataracts, is almost totally deaf and is on daily medication.
Last night, she sleep with me and Mommy. I wasn't real happy because she had my spot next to Mommy but Mommy said since she as been sick I should be a good girl and share. I was so ashamed of myself because many, many people took care of me before Mommy got me and I get spoiled all the time. Mommy cried off and on during the night because every time she touched Mandie Jo, she felt so skinny and fragile. Mandie Joe has always been very feisty and it hurts to see her so unsteady on her feet and so skinny. She actually had gained some weight but lost all of it and then some while she was in the hospital. The Power of the Paw is so great, as we have seen many times, so please pray that she is her old self soon.
Aunt Judy bought this squeakie toy today for her and as you can see you she is enjoys playing with it laying on the couch. If she wants to be a couch potato, go for it little one.
This little Scottie is Emily Ann. Her much older sister, Susie (almost 16 years old) went to the bridge Wednesday. She died of liver failure. Even though her Mom, Brinda, was prepared for it who is ever really ready to lose one of us. Emily Ann has been so despondent and almost inconsolable. She and Susie sleep, ate, and played together all her life. Elliott and Webster are Brinda's dachshunds, you've seen them on my blog many times, and her foster dachshunds have been having a hard time too. Please keep Brinda and Emily Ann in your prayers.
Now you get to see the new clothes my Aunt Judy bought for me. This is my new little dress. It's gonna be my Easter Dress and I just love it!!
I wore this little number to the Spring Fling stuffing kinda party. It was too big but I wore it anyway cause it made me feel pretty. Look, I'm a ballerweiner!! Want to Dance?
LESSONS FROM ALICE AND WONDERLAND.
The White Rabbit: Chill Already
"Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!" The first words Alice hears from the very nervous, high strung and neurotic bunny. Had Prozac been available in Wonderland, the White Rabbit would have been a prime candidate for it. He does teach us one thing: "Worrying doesn't solve anything"........ so
CHILL ALREADY!!!!
Love, kisses and
{{{{huggies}}}} to all....Mona
