ATDR MAY ADOPTIONS and A MESSAGE FROM ANGEL WEENIE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"To the world, you are just one more rescue person.
To a rescued pet, you are the world."

(Simone's new brother)

Angel Weenie here.....

My favorite spot.
I had to come down for a quick visit from the bridge and tell you what happened between Mommy and Bentley. Remember Bentley and Simone got adopted by Tim and Pam at the ATDR picnic? Well after Mommy adopted Prissy, she took my new sister and MY Mona over to their house for a visit. You see since Simone and Prissy were at the same foster they all wanted for them to keep in touch.

Bentley was surrendered by a rescue organization that was unable to take care of his physical issues.  He was paralyzed in the rear of his body and unable to walk. Enter ATDR. Bentley was taken to  our fabulous acupuncture vet Dr. Stiles in Houston with the hopes that he would walk again.

After only 2 acupuncture treatments Bentley was UP and had regained bowel and bladder control. His walk will probably always be a bit "wonky". He is very sweet but a little shy and Ms Pam said he gets along great with everybody but is very bonded with her and never lets anybody else pick him up or cuddle with him.

The day Mommy and the girls was visiting, he came up to Mommy and put his paws on Mommy's knees, just like I used to do. He can't jump up like the other dogs do, just like I couldn't. She picked him up and he crawled up to her shoulder, just like I used to do. Then he started nuzzling her neck, just like I used to do. Take a look at my picture with Mommy. Bentley kinda looks like me, don't ya think. Mommy started crying cause Ms Pam said she had never seen Bentley offer himself to anybody. It made Mommy feel special and she said it was almost like having me in her arms again, almost but not quite. So you see, everything has a purpose. The Big Guy up here arranged it all you know. Mommy didn't want another black and tan doxie but now she can have a Bentley fix whenever she visits Pam and Tim, just like she has a Georgie fix when she visits Aunt Judy.

Yep, Bentley is one special boy and and I am happy that Mommy loves him, just like she did me.

OK....now that I've got Mommy all teary eyed, I'm going back to the bridge and Mommy can finish the May adoptions. Can you believe it......26 adoptions in May !! I just can't stop playing with all the dogs and kitties up here and guess what? I can have all the chocolates, stuffies and knock over all the garbage cans I want here.

(Bentley's new sister)

There you have it. May was one of ATDR's best months ever.
So far, including My Prissy, there are 14 adoptions for June and the count won't be in until around the 5th.  I hear that there were are lots of long hairs and pups.

God Bless......The Mommy

Oh Weenie, thank you so much for telling the story about Bentley and Mommy. My Mommy had tears in her eyes reading it. We miss you very much and I know your Mommy does too so it's so nice to know she can get a special snuggle anytime she needs one.

Love, Cupcake

Oh Weenie...I miss you so much. I think maybe you borrowed Bentley's body for just a little while so you could say HI to your Mommy. You are still number 1 in my heart.

Indeed. It's definitely one of your best months. Congratulations on the many adoptions. I am somewhat proud of seeing this post.

Hey Angel, I think you are spot on in saying that mommy is special. And the Big Guy gave her a Weenie fix to reward her special-ness.

Just stopping by to thank you for your kindness and friendship. We know the sadness and grief are still very real for you too. Hugs.

We want to thank you so very much for your kind words of comfort and friendship after our very sudden loss of Thunder. We are all still very sad, but the support and love from all of our friends from all over the world is helping to heal our broken hearts. We are sure that Thunder Dunder is now in a very happy place and also very thankful to have so many wonderful friends.
