SUNDAY'S ATDR PICNIC and PRAYERS AND HELP FOR THE PETS OF MOORE, OKLAHOMA

QUOTE IF THE DAY:

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest
compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of
which have the potential to turn a life around."
~~ Leo Buscaglia

First we would like to offer up our prayers to all the people in the city of Moore, Oklahoma. We were shocked by the news when we got up this morning. The lose of human life is heart breaking, especially the children, but the lose and suffering of  pets is just as hard. Mommy heard an interview with a lady that had lost everything but all she wanted was to find her little dog. She was reunited with him and said she could rebuild but never get her baby back.

Today we got this e-mail from the President of ATDR addressed to everyone in our rescue group:

Best place to donate for disaster relief for pets right now is Central Oklahoma Humane – www.okhumane.org – you can specify disaster relief, but I spoke with them this morning and really everything is going towards disaster relief right now. Many of the animals they are finding right now are just scared and tired, but some do have major medical needs. With the human fatality count over 90 right now, you can imagine the situation is rather desperate for family pets.

You can also help spread the word on where to post lost/found pets – www.okclostpets.com.

We also got an e-mail from our main Vet located in Spring saying:

 Weenie here...........

Mommy has made a Smilebox of the ATDR Picnic on Sunday for all of you. She took tons of pictures and videos. I really missed a good one but Sissy told me all about it.

Mommy has been having trouble with her leg and hip again so she's back to using her walker again. Her walker seemed to be the entertainment of the day for the dachsies besides chasing balls and begging for food. Every dog there tried to get the tennis balls off the bottom of it, they was pushing that thing all over thee yard..Sissy said it was hilarious seeing Petey and Adam, fighting over the balls. BTW, they both of them had on the same harnesses, with red and yellow flames on them.

Enjoy............
