A TERRIBLE EXPLOSION IN TEXAS and MEET BABY PAXTON

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“I don't want to live in the kind of world where we don't look out for each other. Not just the people that are close to us, but anybody who needs a helping hand. I cant change the way anybody else thinks, or what they choose to do, but I can do my bit.”
Charles de Lint

Dear friends,

We are still in a state of shock over the massive explosion  in Texas Wednesday night. So many brave people lost their lives that night, 4 EMT's in training were some of the first to arrive at the scene

The first thing that we thought was it was another attack of terrorism. What happened in Boston was too fresh in our minds. Last word we heard, it was a tragic accident and we pray it stays that way. Mommy cried when she heard the tape of a little girl's terrified voice when the explosion happened. When it was thought to be just a fire many people were taping it as was her father. There have been many nasty things being said about the father for even being near the fire and exposing her to harm. It is humane nature, Mommy says, for people to be drawn to things like this. He was just as terrified as she was. Mommy wishes people would just leave it alone and think about what happened and how to help the town

One lady, whose husband is a volunteer firefighter and was fighting the fire, was interviewed and she said they lost their home after the explosion. She was able to get her mother and herself out alive but not their 2 dogs. The loss of any life is heartbreaking as well  as losing your beloved pets. The town is in need of everything, including our prayers.

Town of West, Texas, recovers after plant blast kills 14,

among the dead were 11 emergency responders.

But almost at the moment of the explosion the miracle of birth took place.

Meet Paxton

He weighed 9 pounds 1 ounce and was 22 inches long.

His Mommy, Meredith and Granny, Becky

You've seen Meredith and Becky on our blog many times. They are rescuers too and Paxton is our newest recruit. BTW... Pax was born on his Mommy's  birthday.
Mommy might get to see him tomorrow after she goes to the new Dachshund Rescue in town. More about that later. Their name is D.R.E.A.M.
(which means Dachshund Rescue Education and Mission)

Gotta go now. Please keep the people of West in your thoughs and prayers.

Congrats on such a beautiful baby Paxton! Did we understand correctly that hubby was fighting the fire in West? Such a sad, sad thing to happen and hurt so many. After such a rough week it was nice to see such a beautiful new face!

Nice meeting you, Paxton!

We pray for the people around Waco. Today we have our Marathon so we also take time to think of the people of Boston.
Have a serene Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
