Papa Ricca, Much Sadness but Wondeful News and Meet Kiril.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have."~~ Frederick Koenig

Born 2/10/1913 -- Passed away 8/13/1984
Happy 100th Birthday Papa Ricca

Weenie here.........
It was a very sad week for all of Blogville last week. As most of you know, my dearest love, Amber, lost her brother Rusty. I never got to meet him BUT I know he is with Tucker and they are both happy again playing and running around the bridge together. I have something very important to ask my girl and I wished he could be here to hear it and give me his approval. I will miss ya and be here if my love needs me.

Then we read about Remington's cancer prognosis.

Beth said:

Our decision is to let him spend the rest of his days being as comfortable as possible. He shows no sign of pain at this time. We are going to watch him and love him and give him the best we can until the time comes that God let's us know it's time to say good bye.

I do know my boy....I am sure he will live life to the fullest. This will not keep him from enjoying each and everyday. As we all know....that is how we all should live our life....because nothing is certain. He told me he has many things to do and is very excited about them. He is quite the guy....and that is why I love him so much.
We love you too Remington !!

Mona here......
I was so scared when we found our my dear friend Asta was going to have surgery too. We have faith things will be OK. I'm a cancer survivor you know. There is always hope. This is what we last heard.

BUT there is good news too:
 Dobbie Update........
Dobbie is now at the rescue that will care for him until he is adopted. He started his on new journey on Feb 3rd
3?
Dobbie Now
Dobbie Then
On 1/16/13

Dobbie had a BIG day today (so far). I went to pick him up from AldineAnimal Hospital to take him to meet Dawn Timms at Pet Smart. He is such a hyper little guy. He now weighs about 33lbs, but is looking thicker as he is starting to get fat on his bones! He got a bath and a pedicure, and we headed to PetSmart! OMG talk about excited!! He didn't know which way to go when we got to PetSmart today. He was super happy to see people, dogs, everything! He even carried his toy inside with him (which had gotten torn up in the car already). He got 2 new toys and some treats while at PetSmart and he was being very vocal, especially when he saw a little black puppy! We met with Dawn and took some pics, and they are now headed to his next step of his journey with Tiffany Jones and APAC-Temple. He is looking so good, I can't wait to see how well he fills out! OH..and I didn't cry LOL he is too silly hyper to let that happen!
At my new home.

 Weenie here again..........
OMD, you won't beleive this !!. Yesterday Mommy drug me to the Vet for my yearly physcical and I got to meet Rocky in the flesh. OMD, it was pawsome. Dr Briles said he could bring him to see Mommy if she wanted and of course she said yes.
OMD Mommy said he looked terrific. I don't know because we just sniffed on each other and I'm blind remember. Everything was fine BUT when he tried to climb into her lap and I couldn't let him do that.

Rocky the Boxer
Mommy took this picture of his website this morning and in his own words he said.........

"Sweet Sunday morning to everyone! I was just thinking what a wonderful place the world would be if everyone had the stash of weenies that I now have...hope that you are all blessed today with your own wondrous weenie-type of world."

OMD, you thought he was kidding? He has a closet full of Vienna Sausages, his favorite  treat. He has been getting care packages from all over the world with all kinds of toys, blankets and treats. He shares too. He and Dr Briles have lunch together sometimes. Dr Briles eats crackers with his but Rocky says it's all about the meat.

Now, Mommy will tell you them best part.

The Mommy here.........

Rocky looks great and seems to be so happy. Dr Briles said Rocky is doing so well that he only has one really bad spot left and he doesn't think he will need skin grafts.

Fantastic news for this sweet boy.

One more thing before we close. Meet Kiril, a new friend. Ann from Zoolatry sent some of us Texans the news that he had moved here and I contacted him. Stop on by and say hi.
He has some fantastic blogs, one is about his cats too. He's a writer and has blogs about writing too.  Click below and it will take you to meet him.

What a small world! I knew Kiril years ago via a BBS that was entertainment-themed, and even met him at the wedding of two fellow posters. How surprising to stumble across his name in this blog!

Oh, my!

Kerri!

It's been 11 years!

Howling wolves, and Elbie's Bar & Grill message boards are still a pleasant memory to mme.

If you can e-mail me, please do, old friend.

That small community of men and women, from 1998 to 2001, helped draw me out of my shell, and encouraged my creative writing (ghost writing as my cat Nikita, but under a fake name of "Hokie").

I've come a long way since then. :-D

Wow! You HAVE been busy. No wonder you don't have time to come visit us. Remember your old country friends if you ever want a slow weekend.
