Love is in the air and a dog's devotion

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

" The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth will ever be.
~~ Konrad Lorenz

I am so excited, I can't hardly sit still. My love has accepted my invitation to the Blogville Valentine's Ball. I am the luckiest doggie in the world. SHE SAID YES!!

Isn't she the most gorgeous doggie in the world and SHE SAID YES!! Be still my heart.

"Mommy, how long before Valentine's day? I gotta get my tux. I gotta get my magic Bumble Bee tuned up and ready to pick my girl up. Nothing but the best for my girl. What kind of flowers does she like? So much to do, so little time."

Mommy will take over now. I gotta go calm my nerves.

The Mommy here..........

14 years ago, I read an article in my People magazine about Bill and Ben, two Jack Russel terriers, from England. It moved me so much that I kept the article and have read it many times throughout the years. It's about the devotion these two dogs had for each other after one was blinded when someone stabbed him.

I found it again the other day and it made me think about my sweet Mona and how she protects her brother Weenie, how she walks right next to him and won't let him bump into things.

I went to Google and found this link below. If you click on it you can see an article from another publication about the bond they shared. They both were 4 years old at the time so I'm sure they crossed the bridge together and are still the best of friends.

God Bless.......Sarah, the Mommy

This is really heartwarming! I just had to to go to the link. Thank you for sharing Ben and Bill's story.

This is probably one of the first dogs who had his own little helper.

Best wishes Molly.

Of course Amber said YES! She'd be a fool not to. You two are going to have so much fun. And picking her up in the Bumble Bee is gonna make her weak in the knees.

What a beautiful story. That's what we call devotion!

Of course she said yes! You'll have a pawsome time together. I think I'm going to be going solo, so I'll be free to dance with ALL the ladies!

Such a nice story of devotion and loyalty, but how could someone do that to poor Ben in the first place. The thought of it just makes me sick!
