LBR NEEDS OUR HELP AND GOING TO THE COUNTRY -- REMEMBER EVERYBODY?

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Helen Keller
“I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the light.”
~~~ Helen Keller
Grey Muzzle Boxers Are Awesome!
Legacy Boxer Rescue (LBR)
Legacy Boxer Rescue (LBR) saves boxers from shelters, and those who have been surrendered by their owners, in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We are a 100% volunteer-based organization. Our volunteers all share the love for these big, lovable dogs. They open their homes as foster parents, until a "furever" home can be found for each deserving boxer. All LBR boxers receive medical care in order to make sure they are completely healthy. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, de-worming, and sometimes even more serious care, such as fixing broken bones, surgery or heartworm treatment.
When we meet with potential boxer adopters we often hear, "We'd like a dog between one and three." Reasons for this age selection include, "We want the dog to grow with our family," or, "We don't want to go through the pain of losing a dog in just a few years."
While we understand and respect the desires of our adopters, we encourage them to consider boxers who are seven and older. Most of these dogs have so much energy and spunk that you'd never guess they were reaching their golden years! They are typically house and crate trained, don't eat your favorite shoes, and are a little more laid-back. And, these middle-aged sweethearts need a safe, loving home just as badly as our teenaged boxers!
LBR would use grant money awarded to us to start a program that would help more of the senior boxers be adopted. We would reduce the already low adoption fee. We would also provide all necessary supplies including dog bowls, dog bed, collar, leash, several squeaky toys, and one 40 pound bag of dog food.
We would love your help in helping these grey-muzzled babies, like our sweet Sassy, find their forever homes.
Mona here..........
 OMD.....We're going to the country. It's been almost like forever, at least 87 years or so it seems. We was gonna leave at the crack of dawn but NO Mommy had to work late last night, so now we gotta wait until after the bank opens at 9 am in the morning. Can't travel without as little cash.
Rats....that's gonna cut into our time chasing cow dogs, playing in the dirt, sniffing around and hunting tree rats and lizards.  It's just not fair. I tell you.
Mommy here......... "The kids can do all that stuff they said but I plan on drinking my coffee, sitting in a rocker on the porch and watching the sun come up. That's just the medicine I need to get my mind of what all is going on."
Well anyway the cast if characters hasn't changed from the last time we was in the country May 27, 2011. Yep, it's been more than a year since we was last there. It just ain't right.
We won't be posting again until we get back, but we'll make sure Mommy takes lots of pic.
In case ya forgot somebody, here we all are and who we belong to. 7 dachshunds & one dachshund wanna be.
