ATDR June adoptions

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

I Have Done Something

"I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.

I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal. And I was angry.

"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"

God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, "I have done something," he replied. "I created you."

ATDR had the greatest month ever. 21 lucky pups found their forever homes

BUT......... We also lost a very special girl....

Our sweet, long term foster,  Margie crossed the bridge on June 25th at over 20 years of age. She came into rescue 4 years ago when she was thrown out by her owners because she had started to slow done. Her foster found her that morning and we all lost a beautiful old lady.

This was the email ATDR got that very sad day.............

Our dear old Margie has crossed over the bridge today while sleeping. We have had her with us over 4 years and she was 16 or so when we pulled her from the shelter. She sure had a determined spirit. I have always said she was probably a force to be reckoned with in her day….I can only imagine. Now she is free to run and play again as she must have in her younger days with bright clear eyes and keen hearing to go along with her uncanny ability to sniff out popcorn in any room. Sleep well dear one. You were just an amazing old gal.

Sleep well little one..........the Mommy

Congrats to all those doggies who found their new furever homes.

So sad about Margie. I'm glad she was able to spend her final years away from the shelter. I'll light a candle for her.
