"Smile. Have you ever noticed how easily puppies make human friends? Yet all they do is wag their tails and fall over."
~Walter Anderson, The Confidence Course, 1997 Hi friends,
Wennie here.....
1 year ago today. we posted the pictures of the 2 little monkeys above and I got Mommy to type what is posted below (copied and pasted from our 2/26/11 post). Well I'm still smiling and I haven't lost any weight but then neither has Sissy. I'm gonna be 10 years old Tuesday, 77 in peep years, so I guess I'm old as dirt just like Mommy.
"Mommy said Sissy and me could post this picture of these two little monkeys cause they are too cute and because I just feel like smiling all the time. Life is good! I'm home now and I don't have to stay outside like I used to. I get plenty of treats, lots to eat, Sissy lets me share her stuffies, except for Pinky Poo, and lets me share Mommy's lap which is the best of all. My Aunt Judy says I should weigh around 11 pounds so me and Mona get the exact same amount of food to eat, she could stand to lose a few pounds too, but don't tell her I said that. She weighs more than me. Girls get mad if you tell them they are fat. My Birthday is coming up on Monday and I got a pressie coming just for me from my two girls, Shelby & Milly. I am sooooooooo excited."
OK.....
Now I gotta tell you what we did all day yesterday from 9:00 am until 11:00 pm.
Me and Mona slept most of day, between running outside to bark at anything that moved and begging Mommy for treats, which we didn't get! Mommy watched the Hallmark Movie Channel for 14 whole hours with only potty breaks during commercials, eating lunch & dinner (on a TV tray in front of the TV) and feeding us our dinner and making sure we got our medicines on time.
If you haven't already guessed, they was having a Western Movie Thon. Mommy never ever misses a Western on TV---remember the tree falling on the house during the icestorm?---and to top it off, her never misses anything having to do with her favorite western of all time......
Funny thing is, it wasn't even the first Lonesome Dove movie series, where her fell in love with with Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones, heck they wasn't even in any of then, but everything leading up to it and the last episode of it.
1st it was Dead Man's Walk, then Comanche Moon and finally Streets of Laredo.
Mommy has alwas been in love with Tommy Lee Jones, ya know he's a Texan!, from the first movie she ever saw him in "The River Rat", when he was a young thing like her used to be 100 years or so ago. She loves James Garner too, who played Woodrow Call in the Streets of Laredo, but she REALLY, REALLY loves seeeing Tommy Lee running around without a shirt in The River Rat.
Her says "Look at that Face" ........"one moment please while my typist stops fanning herself!"
Woodrow Call: [after beating a man nearly to death for hitting Newt he climbs on his horse and looks at the horrified towns people]"I hate rude behavior in a man. I won't tolerate it."
Now let me tell ya what Mommy thinks about Robert Duvall. Mommy thinks he is the best western actor in the world. He has been in so many, her can't even count all, like the original True Grit. He played Boo Radley in To Kill A Monkingbird, not a western, which was when Mommy fist saw him and has been a fan every since.
"I'm just tryin' to keep everything in balance, Woodrow. You do more work than you got to, so it's my obligation to do less."
Here's the link to the Etsy site http://www.etsy.com/listing/91930967/valentine-love-tutu, where Mona is modeling it.
Here is the newest harness, Aunt Judy made for my gorgeous Sissy. The bow on it was from Mommy's Birthday cake last year so thatakes it extra special.
OK.......that's all for tonight. It's almost dinner time...........Sniff ya later.....Weenie
