QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"A dog is for life NOT just for Christmas."
Adopt a Rescue Dog
As most of you are aware, Mommy's heart belongs to Me, Weenie and Dachshund Rescue but not just us dachshunds but Pug, Great Dane, Bully Breed, actually any rescue group and she is friends with all of them and tries to help out when she can. Today we want to share the journey of one special pug, named Joshua

Joshua -- today
Joshua came to DFW Pug Rescue 2 years ago badly malnourished and with mange and scabs over his entire body. Today, he is a beautiful pug with a luxurious, black coat, living in a home filled with unconditional love. Enjoy our video story of Joshua's journey and join us by volunteering your time or donating to help our rescue pugs just like Joshua.

DFW Pug Rescue celebrates 14 years
This week DFW Pug Rescue is 14 years old and we want to join with them as they CELEBRATE so this post is dedicated to our friends.
Here is a their remarkable story:
Fourteen years ago this week, just a few individuals had an idea of creating a group that would rescue all pugs, regardless of age or medical condition. This week Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue celebrates its 14th birthday, and close to 6000 pugs have been rescued. We have taken in pugs others would have discarded due to age or poor health. We have rescued some special needs pugs whose names are now legend - Mary, Buddy, Bitsi, Joshua, Wheelie, Bucket, Della, Nathan, and many others. Each of these pugs represents a small miracle, and every pug we rescue reaffirms our passion to continue to help these little ones.
Today, we are one of the largest pug rescues in the nation, thanks to our volunteers, our adoptive families, our fosters, our supporters, and our donors. Without you, we would not be able to give these pugs a second chance at life.
Over this time we have grown as an organization thanks to an incredibly talented and dedicated group of core individuals and volunteers. Many of these folks have full time jobs in addition to the work they do for the rescue pugs. In these challenging economic times, our donations are not keeping pace with our veterinary costs which will exceed $250,000 this year. However, in addition to donations, our need for volunteers is just as great.
If you have a love for pugs, please consider dedicating your support and time to DFW Pug Rescue. Foster, volunteer, donate, and help us to spread the word for rescue. The pugs cannot ask, so we ask for them.
Please say happy birthday to DFW Pug Rescue with a gift today.

I watched the video and cried. Thank you Joann for taking such good care of this wonderful boy and loving him so much. The work these rescue groups do are incredible. The animal population is a sad situation. Thank goodness we have rescue groups to help these precious babies.
Wonderful post. Thank you for making everyone aware of this great rescue!
Wow, it's hard to believe that's the same pugpup. I'm so glad he's healthy and happy now. Being adopted from a shelter myself, I can really appreciate this post. Thanks for reminding us and happy barkday to the rescue!!
