Oh my dog!! Oh my Dog!! We are doing the happy dance over at the Ricca household tonight. Mommy has been so excited all day and there was a leap to her step all day even if she can't hardly walk. We knew something was cooking when she came home with a big grin on her face. ATDR picked up a blind double dapple named Faith Tuesday and Aunt Judy was keeping her until the weekend when she could be transported to a volunteer in Austin, who has too many foster dogs already. The hope was that we could find a foster for her in Houston. Aunt Judy sent Mommy Faith's picture and then Mommy brain started clicking and that's when she thought of a lady who already had experience with a blind dachshund. Peppermint Patty's Mommy Gerlinde.
Remember back on May 23rd when Mommy did a post about sweet Peppermint Patty's passing. Patty was adopted in October 2010 by Gerlinde and her family. Gerlinde already had a blind dachshund named Grayson and Patty was her heart and the loss of sweet Patty was very difficult.
But there were so many homeless dachshunds in the world and Gerlinde & her family were ready for another precious little girl and adopted another ATDR sweetie named Lucy. She can never replace Patty but she quickly stole Gerlinde & her family's heart.

Mommy remembered when she had the home visit with Gerlinde and her daughter, Kathi, that she had said someday she might want to foster. So the light went off in Mommy's head. Grayson is blind and that's what ATDR needed, someone with experience with handicapped dogs. Mommy would love to foster Faith but she can't hardly keep up with me and Weenie so why not ask, if Gerlinde could foster Faith. It never hurts to ask. So that's just what Mommy did and the answer was yes. A match made in heaven, we think and we can visit them when ever we want. So let us introduce you to Faith. Gerlinde picked her up from Aunt Judy's tonight.

Gerlinde sent this to Mommy shortly after Patty left for the bridge. It is beautiful, true and quite appropriate.
One Door Closes.....Another Opens
Revelations 3:8
When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly! 'The power of one sentence!' God is going to shift things around for you today and let things work in your favor. God closes doors no man can open & God opens doors no man can close...
And the happy dance continues..........{{{huggies}}}....Mona & Weenie

A great reason for dancing, Mona and Weenie. What a pretty girl Faith is! And that sure sounds like the perfect home for her.
Have a great weekend.

We're so happy for Faith. And for Gerlinde. Maybe Gerlinde's family will fall in love with Faith and she can pull a Weenie - another failed foster :)

Hey Mona!
Wow, Faith is a real looker! "Out of every bad thing, good things come." Sometimes we just have to wait a little for it. Very sweet post and great pix!
