Hi Blogville buddis,

Mommy is taking over our blog today. That's right. No pictures of me and Mona looking adorable but she says that's cause tomorrow she is taking me to meet a bunch of dachshund people and their dogs, so you'll get lots of pictures of us tomorrow plus lots of other dachies too. Sissy is going too but I'm gonna be in the spotlight!

The Mommy here..........

Yesterday I got two special treats to close out a very long and exhausting first week back at work. There is nothing like a newborn baby to perk up the spirits. So here are some pictures of Kissa Bull's new two legged brother, Joshua Junior.

JOSHUA, will be called Junior.

Little Josh and Big Josh

Junior was one week old yesterday. He has a slight case of jaundice but is doing very well despite that. The doctor says he has to stay away from crowds and away from the dogs for two months because he was premature. Sleeping and eating, are his two favorite things. He is a food hound already. It had been a long time since I had held a baby but it all came back. Sandra is still very sore and tired and wouldn't let me take her picture even though she had a glow to her face. Of course, I told Sandra that anytime she needed a babysitter, she has nothinbg to worry about. He looks just like his Daddy, don't you think?

Then after holding Joshua for over an hour, Sandra's Mom took Miss Shelby to the backyard for her spend some time with me. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!

Shelby is more beautiful than ever. It had been quite a while since I last saw her with all that's been going on and it was worth the wait. Last year July 3rd, when Shelby came into our lives, I never imagined she would ever be like this. She is so playful now (she was hopping around like a rabbit in this first picture trying to get to a toy), is very healthy looking and no sign of the mange anymore and lovable as ever. She kept running across the patio trying to get into my lap. Seeing our girl brought a joy to my heart and reinforced my belief that all dogs are special regardless of that evil things people think of them.

This was the first picture of Shelby I took yesterday. I was sitting in a patio chair when she came outside so she wouldn't knock me over. Sandra's Mom brought her out & was trying to hold her back but she wouldn't stand still. I was afraid she might have forgotten me since it had been more than a month since I'd seen her but I was wrong. I have to say I did cry a little.

Tomorrow Weenie is being introduced to the rest of my dachshund volunteer friends. It will be his day and I can't wait to show my little man off.

Hope you enjoy the pictures. If Mona & Weenie were posting they'd say......Love & {{{huggies}}}........The Mommy, Sarah

Little Joshua is beautiful and yes, he looks like Big Josh. It is easy to see he likes to eat and sleep - look at those cheeks, the Momster wants to squeeze them:)

Shelby looks so good - thanks to you and her loving home.

Thank you so much for posting these pictures! Junior looks just like his daddy. I usually have a hard time seeing the resemblance between a baby and the parent, but it is so strong here!

Your pictures of Shelby brought tears to my eyes. It's amazing how animals can come back from abuse and bloom again. Shelby's beautiful recovery is due to your and Sandra's loving care.

I love the picture where Shelby is looking up at you. There is so much tender love in her expression. She would never forget you!

- a faithful reader

PS I just want to kiss Shelby on that little beauty mark just above her nose!
