I'M BACK!! BUT SO VERY SAD

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"If I have any beliefs about immortality, it is that certain dogs I have known will go to heaven, and very, very few persons."
-James Thurber

Dearest friends,

Mommy & I were so excited today, when by some miracle, or as we suspect the intervention of Scout and Freyja's Mom, that we could sign back into my blog and actually load a picture and finally do a post. But our happiness was short lived, when we read that our dear friend, The Luke, has ended his journey on earth and has gone to the bridge to spread his very special love with all our fur friends at the bridge.

Mommy and I were blessed to have met Luke and his Mom at the Reliant Dog Show 2 years ago. Both our Mommies were working in their respective rescue group's booths across from each other. Laying on a dog pillow was a handsome Golden Retriever, watching folks walk by and attracting the crowd over. I was working the kissing booth and a very nice lady kept coming over and buying kisses from me all afternoon. Mommy walked across to the Golden Retriever booth and chatted with them and the lady said: "I think I might know your little dog. Is she Mona? You must be the Mommy." So that's how I met Luke and found out that he had a blog too!!. His Mommy had been coming over to DROH's booth trying to figure out if I was Mona. I didn't get to visit much with Luke that day because we was both too busy helping our rescue groups make green papers but I will always cherish that first day I met him and his sweet Mommy. I will miss him very much, as we all will, but I know he is running free, young and healthy again and with my angel sister, Samantha.

Run with the wind my friend Luke.

Scout & Freyja had a wonderful idea the other day to send out the Power of the Paw with cards to Luke and his Mommy. Now they will be even more important. Mommy and I have sent ours and will be sending a donation to Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston in memory of The Luke.
Your cards can be sent to:
The Luke's Mom
c/o Miss Karen
Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston, Inc.
PO Box 19594 Houston, TX 77224
We are so excited to be back but were unprepared for a post since we really didn't think we could sign in but here we are. I missed you all so much during the Christmas holidays and had lots of pictures to share but I guess it's a little late now. I would like to thank everybody for the wonderful Christmas cards and e-mail I received. They were so very special to me and Mommy since we couldn't even leave comments on your blogs. We haven't tried to leave comments yet, but will tomorrow, if our luck holds up.
I gotta go now but there is something I want all of you to know and we mean it from the bottom of our hearts............
{{{Huggies}}}......Mona and the Mommy too!!

PS....be back tomorrow....God Willing.

Sweet Mona, please tell your mommy that if she needs any further help to just give our momma a jingle.

Right now momma has so many tears - she cries for the Luke but we think she cries for herself, too, knowing that nothing in this life is permanent and that sorrowful good-byes await us all...

Welcome back, Mona and Mommy - we are so glad you got things figured out.

And yes, very sad day indeed. We never got to meet the Luke in pawson but we truly felt as if we knew him that well. He was a great pal and we will all miss him very much.

Hoping to see more from you.

Welcome back!

What a beautiful tribute this was to Luke. I didn't know him but I left his mom some encouraging words recently. So sad... I lit a candle for The Luke.

It was saddening to read about Luke's passing. You are so lucky to have met him nose-to-nose.

My dear sister Mona.. I MISS YOU! Glad that you're back with us now. I was having the same problem not long ago when suddenly blogger being so sassy and ended up blocked my ID but luckily I can get it back.

I'm so sad to hear bout Luke but I know that he should be resting in peace now.

Love,
