"Beware of things that go bump in the night."
Halloween quote of da day:
Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen,Voices whisper in the trees,
"Tonight is Halloween!"
OMD.......What a day yesterday was. So much excitement, meeting DWB friends in person, being with my bestest friends....George, Bandit, Harley and Brooklyn....and seeing Mommy smile so much. Mommy said I can't go "Trick or Treating" tonight because her leg really hurts today, so she's been spending hours loading pictures and I been chillin in my bed under the computer table. Her gots her leg elevated like the doctor said and so far she hasn't fallen out of her chair...hee hee. I don't mind not going trick or treating cause yesterday was one of the bestest days in my life and nothing except having all of you and my brothers here could have made it any better. I'm content!!
Set back and relax and enjoy!!
Mommy said she loves this picture the most of me. Her says my eyes let up when I saw Minna Krebs and her sissy. For a minute there, I thought Minna's sister was my brother, Siskle and Mommy had a tear in her eye.
Every girl should have some bling, right. I wish you could have seen my pumpkin neckless, it was so pretty and kept twinkling at everybody.
(If you blow this picture up you can see it glow, maybe)
Besides the fried chicken lunch there was a silent auction, shirts and harnesses for sale, homemade quilts and blankets and door prizes.
There were so many fantastic costumes but this was the only Dracula that I saw.
A cutie pie.....
and a closeup of her dress.
The prom queen-- 1st place winner of most beautiful girl.
The dragon--1st place winner best costume
(sorry, this was the best pic Mommy could get of the dragon--if ya click on the picture you might be able to see him better)
Roxie, the bumble bee.
My bestest friends.
Aunt Judy's boys and Brooklyn were 1st place winners for best theme....Cowboys and Indians.
Harley...his braids wouldn't stay on either.
Bandit...the horse being ridden by a cowboy.
and of course
You will notice that George only has his harness on. Why you ask? He was so busy giving Mommy her "Georgie Fix"
that he missed the costume call.
One more shot of our DWB friends and their Mommy Cheryl
When the cattle call was announced for all the doggies that wanted to be judged it was a stampede for tho spotlight.
Notice the little doggie on the right....she was flying.
The peeps and the contestants waiting their turn.
Had enough yet. Mommy says you can't ever have enough dachshunds.
But, Mommy did screw up, "so what else is new", and left out the 1st place winner of the scariest costume so it's at the bottom of this post.
One last picture. It's what rescue is all about and why ATDR has so many fundraisers and goes to every event possible to help dachshunds like Moo. She just arrived yesterday and already she is at her first event. That's her real face, it's not a mask painted on. She has numerous mammary tumors, no doubt from being breed all her life. She will be needing surgery and hopefully will find a forever home soon.
PS......stay away from Spiders and them things that go bump in the night!!
