DAY ONE OF MY HOLIDAY IN THE COUNTRY--ME AMD EMMA

(courtesy of Jami Johnson)
QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer."

I'm back!! Did ya miss me? I sure missed you guys. Mommy said I get to tell ya about my trip to see the dacshies, Roxie, Sammy, Andy, Maggie and Jake and then there was EMMA, the dachsie wanna be. So today's post will be pictures from day 1.

First off.....important news.......KISSA-BULL is back on line!!! Brinksey Winksey Puddin Pie did their first post last night. Miss Sandra has lots of pictures of the puppies and Shelby so make sure you stop in again.

We got a late start for the country because Shelby decided to have the puppies that morning. We didn't get to leave for the country until almost 3 pm, usually I would have already been barking at cow dogs, sniffing around, digging holes, chasing squirrels and playing with my friends....you get the picture....for hours and hours, but Mommy wanted to stay with Shelby. I understood, really I did!

We didn't do much that first day. For those of you that remember my bestest county friends,  Dachsies Rule, are who we went to see.  They are the ones that got me involved in blogging to start with. They haven't blogged much in a long time and all kind of things have been going on but I gotta tell ya first off about my Aunt Mary, Dacshies Rule's Mommy. She broke her ankle stepping into a hole that Emma dug. She just got out of her cast but now has to wear a special boot and when she takes the boot off she has to use crutches. Then she decided to have the doctor look at her thumb she has been having trouble with for years. Well it turns out she had tendon damage and they did surgery and she had to wear a cast on her hand too. Now she's cast less but can't drive or type, and she hasn't missed a day of work....stubborn just like my Mommy. What I am getting at  is Aunt Becky has to drive her to work and pick her up. So what happens? As soon as we get to the country, Mommy and Aunt Becky went to pick her up and we all had to stay in the house.

"Thank you sweet baby Jesus, for Aunt Becky putting Emma in her crate."---I will explain why in a minute.

We only had time to play for an hour or so and get at little cow dog barking in when the Mommies got back. Then, dang it, it was dinner time and we had to go inside to eat, and then it got dark and you know what happens after dark in the country. The snakes come out!! Too many of my friends got bitten last year, sometimes more than once, when it was dark, so ya gotta pee and poo before ya come in or you just gotta hold it until morning. Us girls can control ourselves pretty good but them boys just go hick there legs some where...hee hee.

This is Emma

Aunt Becky is her Mommy. She is very pretty. Mommy thinks she is adorable. She is still a puppy, just a little over a year old. She is Lab/Pit Bull mix and is very friendly,
too friendly if you ask me!!
Me outside alone.
Emma outside alone.
The aloneness lasted all of 10 minutes after we got there and unless I was sitting on Mommy, Aunt Becky or Aunt Mary's lap or asleep in bed with Mommy, she never left me alone. I know she just wanted to playt me but look at the size oaf Emma compared to me. I was the only doggie with long hair there and she kept pulling on my tail and hair. I swear I thought we wanted to eat me!
I tried to be nice, really I did. She wouldn't even let me take a nap on the couch with my blankie in peace, so I had to snap at her once in a while.
Do you see me in this picture...NO, cause she chased me off!
Finally, a little peace and quite.
Do I look exhausted or what?
Tomorrow I'll have pictures of all my friends to share but I just had show you what I had to put up with for four days. Mommy was shocked. She said she's never seen nasty looks on my face before, but then I've never had to deal with a 48 pound shadow either.
I'm tired just thinking about it, so I'm gonna say night, night for now.
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}}...to all...........Mona
PS....not to worry, I gots lots of cow dogs to show you.!

First of all - ooooh, snakes! I have to say one thing for Long Island. It's got a lot of disadvantages, but one thing you've got to like about it is the lack of poisonous snakes.

Then about Emma - she's very cute, but kids, cute as they are, can be such a pain. It's bad enough when they're small, but when a kid outweighs you by a millionty pounds, that's a problem. I hope that she took you seriously and that things smoothed out for the rest of the visit.

lotsa licks, Lola

You and your mama always pick out the prettiest flower pictures and the best quotes, Mona! I always look forward to stopping by to check them out.

My parents have beagles. They don't ever spend time with my chi's but I imagine the young beagle would be the same way with them.

I hope you had a great time despite the constant shadow pestering you.

Oh, Mona. That's the curse of being so popular and having such star power! Your fans just won't leave you alone. Emma's awfully pretty but I can understand why you would just need some "Mona time." I can't wait to hear about the rest of your adventures!
