HAPPY THOUGHTS TO MAKE MOMMY SMILE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"May you always have love to share,

Health to spare,

And friends that care."

Hi dearest friends,

Something terrible happened on Mommy's way home tonight. She almost hit a chi-wienie and her heart almost stopped. She was hysterical, thinking she had killed a dog. I cried too when Mommy told me what almost happened so I'm gonna let her tell you what happened.

Mona's Mommy here.........

"I was driving down a very narrow street with ditches on both sides on the street, when a little dog ran in front of my car. I thought I had hit it but thank GOD I didn't. I screamed, slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the car. I found him in one of the ditches on the side of the road. His owner came running out of the house across the street screaming. I picked him up and made sure he was OK. He was as scared as me, I think. He was trembling and started licking my face. He did no have a collar or tags on. I lost it and starting giving the lady a piece of my mind, through the tears. She said she didn't have a fence and because she lived kinda in the country, she didn't think it was necessary to have a collar on him. That was not the thing to say to me! She stated she would keep the dog chained up in the future. Again not the thing to say to anybody involved in rescue. The statement "I will keep him chained up" made me even madder. I told her that if I ever saw him on the street running lose again or chained up I would call the SPCA on her. She said she was sorry. I hope chewing her out did some good. It better because, I will be watching from here on out.

I was shaking like a leaf the whole time I was talking to her and didn't want to leave him there. I have been having a very hard time since Mona was diagnosed with cancer. Even though, she is now cancer free, I have been waking up in the middle of the night crying, thinking that she has died and I am alone. I can't go back to sleep until I gather her in my arms and make sure she is there. This happening today, didn't help my nerves any. Sorry I just had to get this off my chest. Maybe I'm crazy, I don't know."

OK, it's my time again........When Mommy settled down she went to read some e-mails from Aunt Judy and just has to share this link with you about fostering and rescue. This made Mommy cry too but in a good way. Everybody involved in Rescue should see this. Here goes:

This morning Mommy got a e-mail from Sweet Lexie's Mom and it too made her her cry, but then everything now days makes her cry. She's just a big old 62 year old cry baby at heart. The subject was: Beautiful People and since it was all about you guys we wanted to share it too.

"Dear Mona and Mommy,

There's no question about it. Dog lovers are very, very special people! Please thank all your friends for their comments. We smiled, we cried, we felt so thankful that there are such people in this world. Lexie would have loved them all.

With love and appreciation, Lexie's family.

From the bottom of our hearts, Mommy and me want to thank you too for giving your hearts to them as well. You are all truly the best in the world.

Yesterday, some of you saw these last pictures, when the Doofuss accidentally published our "Where is Kissa Bull" post before the words were added and all of our friends pictures were loaded. So she deleted them out yesterday and here they are again. Lorenza said "Got Milk?" This was from where Mommy works, the weekly Sharing feature. So here goes:

Oh My Goodness!!! You will all love this!!!

How A Bowl Sould be licked: How sweet of the owner, who grabbed a camera instead of chasing the puppy away.

Can you tell what was happening? Somebody was trying to make cupcakes, when the pup somehow got on the table. "Oh well, cupcakes are fattening anyway!"

Looks like somebody had a lot of cleaning up to do!! Speaking of cleaning up, maybe they could hire this Pug to help with the cleanup.

Guess what? Mommy's smiling again!! hee hee....

Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all...Mona

Oh my goodness. That experience would have sent me into hysterics I'm sure. I don't know if I could have even managed to drive myself the rest of the way home. What is that lady thinking??? And a little dog like that running around is so hard to see. I'm glad for you and the pup that nothing worse happened, but I wish that lady would get a clue. The pictures are super cute of the pup in the bowl. I wish I had met my Flash when he was that size. Just precious.

Glad you didn't hit the puppy. For your mom's sake too since she would be even more upset. Hopefully, the dog's owner learned something important.

The foster video is cute. So is the cupcake pup.

Well, that would shake anyone up. I'm glad that Mommy is smiling again, though. You've both been through a lot, but the thing is to enjoy each other right now and I know you both do.

Poor Mommy! It's always upsetting to see puppies running loose. I hope the owners take better care of this little guy.
Tell Mommy to keep looking at those puppy flowers at the top of the post--those are sure to make her smile!

Poor Mona's Mommy - we think she needs a good weekend away with you at Aunt Judy's - and all the cute pups. Give her lots of lickies from us and tell her no more tears, unless they are happy ones.

Well, that story about the Chi-weinie's owner has made our Mom mad too. That woman is a very poor dog owner and should not even have a dog in the first place!! Chained up....what the h*ll is that?? That's no way to treat us dogs!! We hope she does the right thing now and takes much, much better care of her dog. Maybe it was a Godsend that your Mom just happened to be in the right place and now the owner will be thinking differently.

Waggles & Chi kisses, Chewy & Lilibell

Dearest Mona - Please tell your mommy that it's when she stops crying she should worry. Crying just means she has a heart as big as gold for all creatures great and small. That makes her pretty special in my book!

Mona, I hope your mom's lecture to that "Lady" had more effect on HER than MY mom's lecture to Poor Jacob's mom had. I think My mom was WAAAY to tactful ...
All I can say is... Jacob doesn't live here any more.

So very glad that the baby wasn't hurt and good for you sticking up for that baby. They need a voice. I'm always ranting at someone when I walk my babies. They are all 100% indoor only except for yard potty and play time but always have their collar and id's around their necks. ( Oh I could so go on and on about worthless owners ) Still again I'm so glad everything was ok as far s not hitting the baby and such Xo

Glad your mom gave that lady a piece of her mind, more people need to stand up for the pups in need.

Those cupcake photos are SO darn cute.

Hey Mona and Mona Mom,
We are all very glad to hear that you are doing better. We are glad that your mom didn't hit the dog and that she took the time to "talk" to the lady about letting the dog run loose and without any tags. makes us suspect it probably doesn't get a lot of preventative medical care either. Cancer is an insidious killer. We've lost Chance, and Gordon to it for sure and probably Penny too. Jubal and Homer have had mast cells growths removed and have been doing well for years; but mom and dad are always checking us over for cuts, lumps and ticks and stuff. Abby had a big cyst about a month ago that the vets drained for her but then she got a hard growth in its' place and mom went ballistic. Fortunately it was just more inflamed tissue and after 10 days on a strong antibiotic it has completely disappeared just the doc said it would. Moms (and dads) just can't help worrying about us cuz they love us just like as if we were their own babies; which, we guess, we are. Well, we're really, really glad that you're doing so well. Your mom will keep a close eye on you. We wish many more cancer free years.

Ohmidogness, Mona! How scary for your poor mommy! We just never understand how peoples can think it's okay to not have fences or to let their dogs run free next to a road or to not puts tags on them. I mean, tags only cost like 2 green papers! Mona, I wish everydoggie could be as luved and cared for as you!

And Mona's mommy - I'm so very much sorry you've been skeered and sad since Mona had that bad ouchie. But I don't think you're crazy at all. I thinks you're human and you have a great big sweet wonderful heart! I thinks it's just gonna take some time for all this to pass on by, you know?

I luved that little puppy. I'm gonna haves to talk to mom about making me some cupcakes, too! That looked fun!

Mayzie

We are so sorry that happened to your mom. My mom goes crazy when she almost hits any animal. That makes her really super mad too when people let their pets run loose and chain them up. Thank you for giving that bad owner some words! Lots of love, Holly and mom
