PRAYERS NEEDED & A NEW DACHSHUND ANGEL AT THE BRIDGE

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."
-- Roger Caras

Mommy and I are very sad right now, that's why we haven't posted in a few days. Remember at the Hallowiener Party last year we introduced you to a little red dachshund named Chloe and her Mom Nancy?

Well Chloe has gone to the Rainbow Bridge and it was very sudden. She had a very bad case of diarrhea and when Nancy took her to the Vet, they put her on an IV and said they needed to keep her overnight. She died in the night and no one was there, they found her dead the next morning.. Nancy and her husband are devastated. We are too. Mommy cried and cried. Chloe was such a sweetheart and at the Hallowiener Party she let me use her bed, she even wore an LSU bandanna and was an important part of our team. We will miss her but I'm sure she is with Samantha and all of the DROH pups at the bridge running free and healthy.

Then today Mommy found out that her friend, Pam's, kitty is sick too. She is eleven years old, won't eat and has many medical problems. Mommy has been praying very hard that Cleo makes it. Cleo is Pam's baby and she is very worried. "Please, Please all my kitty and doggie friends, pray along with me that she makes it. Pam also has another cat that has diabetes". The thought of losing another animal friend is beyond what Mommy can stand right now.

Mommy & I don't feel very excited about the Spring Fling on Sunday anymore, since we heard all the bad news but I wanted to show you the invitation anyway.. There is going to be a "Dachshund Derby" but Mommy didn't enter me because she says I can't run in a straight line. Neither can Brooklyn, but Aunt Judy entered her. But I have to admit, Brookie is fast, very fast.

Here is the back of the invitation. If you click on it maybe you can read all about it better. Mommy will make sure to take lots of pictures. Mommy said she almost feels like staying home but we won't. My brother, Toby, and his family always come to these fun raisers and sometimes even my brother, Siskle, comes too. Oh heck, Mommy gets to see most of our former fosters and she won't miss that for the world.

I know I should be ashamed of myself for wanting to go, when my kitty friend is so sick, but I can't help it. I'm in love and my Tiger will be coming with his sister, Lucky, and his Mom & Dad. Lucky hasn't been as lucky in love as I have, but I have the perfect fella for her. His name is Harley and he is one of Aunt Judy's boys. So keep your fingers crossed. I talked to their Mom today and she said she will have Lucky wear her prettiest dress. Mommy bought me a new harness so I'll look pretty for my Tiger.

I ask you!! How could I miss seeing a hunk like this......

and maybe get a few of these in. We aen't taking the kissing booth, so all my kisses belong to MY Tiger!!

Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all....Mona

Oh, Mona, I am so sorry to read about your furiends troubles. Most especially the dachshund who passed over so suddenly and unexpectedly. That is so tragic and hard for the humans she leaves behind to deal with. We will be thinking of her and your kitty friend, too. In the meantime, you should most definitely go to the Spring Fling. If anything, these things show that life is too short not to live every day the way you would if it were your last. Which it won't be, but still...

We are so sad to hear about Chloe - too bad it had to happen. We hope the kitty will be OK.

We think you and Mommy should go to the Spring Fling and try to have some fun. It will be good for both of you.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your pup pal. That is very sad and I can't imagine how they must feel knowing the baby passed away alone. :(

I hope your kitty friend feels better soon.

It is okay to still go do stuff, that doesn't mean you don't feel bad and want your kitty friend to be better Mona.
