THE ENDING OF MY WONDERFUL EASTER

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

ON LOVE

"Love is God's creation, the whole and every grain of sand in it.

Love every leaf, every ray of God's light.

Love the animals, love the plants, love everything.

If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things.

Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day.

And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love."

--- Fyodor Dostoevsky

Hi dearest friends,

My wonderful 4 day long holiday weekend with my Mommy is almost over. Tomorrow my Mommy has to go back to work....dang it! She has to work one day and then on Wednesday, she goes on JURY DUTY. Knowing my Mommy's luck , she'll get chosen, she always does. My Mommy has been called for service 6 times through out her life and chosen 4 of those times to sit on a jury panel. Oh and she can't forget to count the time the entire jury was thrown out because it turned out my Mommy knew one of the police officers that was called to testify. It wasn't her fault she knew the guy personally, if you know what I mean. The judge should have just dismissed her not the entire panel. Oh well that the way our justice system goes.

My Mommy discovered that she duplicated one of the azalea pictures we posted the other day and wanted to show you the prettiest one she took. It is gorgeous and she loves the color. To bad it's not in front of our house. All we have in our front yard is a half dead tree, ..........

but we do have these pretty tiny yellow flowers in our backyard, ......

to bad they are just weeds in front of the sink hole.....heehaw--gotcha. "well it's better than nothing."

Have you been wondering why I keep saying MY Mommy? Well this is why. The Baby Fu Fus'! When Mr and Mrs Bunny FurFu left them at our house they forgot to tell us their names. So ... I decided to name them. Since Mommy said they all looked so cute, just like little baby dachies do, we decided to name then after some of my best DWB dachsie friends, that way I could pretend my friends were here with me for Easter. There were 4 girls and 2 boys. The boys have the blue bow tees on. So here are my girlfriends, left to right:

Hailey, Matilda, Frankie Mae and Lorenza and the boys, Tiger and Frankie Furter.

Mommy named the boys and I named the girls. Now why I say Mommy is MY!! After they all got named Mommy just had to love on each and everyone of then just as is if they were my real dachies friends. They followed her everywhere just like she was their Mommies. I let her play with all of them except Tiger, because he is my true love and I had to have him all to myself. Then they had to go back to Bunny Hollow with Mr & Mrs Bunny Fu FUD last night and Mommy and I were very sad.........but

Guess What!!!!!! On Sunday April 18 th, DROH is having our annual Spring Fling!! I have invited Tiger & his Mommish, Daddish and sister Lucky to be my guests. I wish the others could come but they only allow dachshunds at these events....DANG IT!! There will be lots of refreshments, a silent auction and a Dachshund Derby. I'm not entering the races cause I can't run in a straight line and besides I will have some serious courting to do. I'll post a pic of the invitation before the big day.

Me and my Ducky did not get along at first because he got on my back like I was a horse. "How rude!!". I stuck my tongue out at Mommy for buying such a rude duck.

But we made up because he was on my quilt on the couch with all my stuffed doggies. But the real reason we made up was that I used his belly as a pillow cause it's soft like Mommy's belly....heehaw!! "Sorry, no pictures of Mona laying on top of Mr. Ducky. I tried but it was too dark and all you could see was 2 bright beedie eyes." Today has been glorious. The sun has been shining and the grass is dry from yesterday's rain so me, Mommy & Mr Ducky have been outside most of the day. Finally, I got my baby cake. Remember, this is what it looked like.

Well, this is all I got. Mommy shaved off all the pretty icing...to sweet she said. Notice a chunk was missing...she got the first taste...said she had to make sure it was OK for me to eat......"HA....GET YOUR OWN CAKE OLD LADY".

But, I must say, it was Yummileous!!!

Good to the last crumb!!!
Boy did I need to work that cake off. So there's nothing like a good roach but.....
I was so full I could barely roll back over.
Then a little walking around sniffing.....
and checking the sink hole where our tree used to be.....
but can't get too near. "Not to worry, it's only a few inches deep and then solid." And finally I tried to teach Mr Ducky how to roach but it was a lost cause. "He is too fat to roll back over."

Well this is the end of my Easter Holiday!! Only one thing would have made it better. If only the Baby Fu Fus' had really been my real DWB friends. At least I'll be able to see the real Tiger soon.

One last thing. Spring has really come to stay....knock on wood. So it's time to hit the road to hunt bluebonnets and dogwood trees. See now you see why Mommy choose the 2 top pictures for this post.

Guess what? Next Saturday we are all going to hunt for bluebonnets. Yep me, Mommy, Aunt Judy, Mommy's favorite George, Bandit, Harley, and Brooklyn. "How much longer til next Saturday, Mommy?!!!!!!

Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all...Mona
