YIPPIE -- SRING IS BACK

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

Hi friends,

Guess what? Spring is back!! At least for the afternoon. This morning it was chilly and Mommy had the heater on in the car. Coming home from work, she had the A/C on. Typical Texas weather. So when Mommy got home, she decided to sit outside with me for a little bit.

As soon has I got outside, I had to have a good old stretch, to get all the kinks out from being cooped up all weekend long.

Look what Mommy found on the patio. One of my yummy chews, that had been outside all weekend. She said it looked nasty, but I wanted it any way and...........

I snatched it away and ran around looking for somewhere to hide it.
Here I am under our dead hibiscus bush trying to hide it in the grass. Can you see my yummy chew.

Then I walked around the old planters, jumped into one ...... sniffed around a bit ......
and then jumped over to the other planter. I was too fast for Mommy, so you just gotten imagine me flying in the air.

Mommy said we wouldn't be able to visit much tonight, since Dancing With The Stars starts in another 30 minutes, so last night she typed some stuff for today's post.

Mommy read this somewhere and she thought it was hilarious so sit back and have a good laugh. It makes sense to me and just shows how much control we have over our humans and how much we mean to them.

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats:

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food.

The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I can't buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle. I beat you you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is:
Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

They live hear. You don't.

If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur' - niture.

I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.

To you they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

  • eat less,

  • don't ask for money all the time,

  • are easier to train,

  • normally come when called,

  • never ask to drive the car,

  • don't hang out with dug-using people;

  • don't smoke or drink,

  • don't wear your clothes,

  • don't buy the latest fashions,

  • don't need a gazillion dollars for college and

  • if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

Please note -- "The last bullet point does not apply to my Mommy. If I had puppies she would never sell them and we'd be in big trouble with the City of Houston and our Homeowners Association."

LESSONS FROM ALICE IN WONDERLAND

The Queen of Hearts: Keep Your Head

It would be nice to be a Queen and in Wonderland it was bad to be anyone else. The Queen of Hearts was obsessed with chopping off heads. She called for the execution of every citizen in Wonderland multiple times. Her husband, the King, would pardon them behind her back or Wonderland would have been empty. She was not a good role model as she was always losing her head in a blind & aimless fury. So be smart and don't go around losing your head.

See ya later...........love, kisses and {{{huggies}}}...Mona

Hi Mona, You did a grrrreat job of hiding your chewie in the grass, I couldn't see it at all. Glad that your spring has returned. Have you heard anything from your HUNK????

I really couldn't see your yummy chew. BOL. Mona, you're so behaving like an only child. In my home, we never get to "hide" anything. Yummy chews get stolen from inside our mouths!
