4 Days until my Gotcha Day

(copied from Sept. 14, 2009 post)

Hi everybody,

Today we have lots of pictures to share from Saturday's adopt-a-thon, so, sit back on relax. First let me say, the day started out very cold and windy. We were told the event would be indoors BUT it wasn't. It was almost unbearable the first few hours, then the sun came out and it was pleasant, then it got windy again and both Mommy & Aunt Judy got windburn. Typical Texas weather!!

Anyway, we stayed and had a great time except when we was cold and we all were covered up like Eskimos. Actually there were 2 events, DROH, participated in on Saturday, Camp Bow Wows Cupids and Canines Adopt-a-thon and The Sam Houston Racetrack's Wiener D0g Races and Rescues. Since we only have one kissing booth, we had to share it, so me and my pals kissed until 2pm and some other dachshunds took over at Sam Houston in the evening. A girl can only pucker up just so long, ya know.

There were several other rescue groups there but a lot stayed away because of the weather. Here are some of others.

Basset Hound Rescue

Mommy was fascinated with this group. This Bosco. He is a Basset/Pei mix puppy and he was so sweet. Mommy feel in love with him.

DROH KISSING BOOTH

Again excuse the quality of some of the pictures. The kissing booth is not yellow. Our camera's settings are off, it's all Mommy's fault for messing with it......what Doofuss. At least Brinda & Paula shared their pictures. As you can see, I had some help this time.

Now for some kissing shots.

(This is Mommy favorite picture of me--why I don't know)

Now a few pictures of me and my dachsie friends.

George, Mommy's heart.

Tomorrow, I will be doing post about a bunch of dachsies and wieners. It was so funny and made the whole day. Wish we'd had a video.
Gotta go.....until tomorrow..........love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all...Mona

You guys are doing great work. It makes me sad that there are so many pups that need new homes. My mom volunteers for Weimaraner Rescue.

Too bad the weather wasn't more cooperative but it looks like the kissing booth was a big hit. It looks beautiful and we see you were kept very busy, Mona. Mom thinks Bosco is very handsome.

Thank you for the adorable Valentine's card. You and your friends are so cute. That one doggy didn't look too excited to be kissing you, but everyone else sure looked happy!!
