The trusting eyes, they melt my heart
pleading "Don't go," when I depart.
First to the door for me to see,
barking "Welcome home! Look at me."
The sparkling eyes and mine do meet,
wagging tail paired with dancing feet.
Yes, my best friend is home, for the night.
never to leave him, out of sight.
Prancing, running to catch a ball,
turning, twisting, give it all.
One hundred percent from the start,
dogs in play, lighten any heart.
"Days are short, so let's go to sleep,
curling in bed at my buddy's feet."
Dream of tomorrow, just to begin.
love between man and dog, never end.
Mankind and dog, together we know,
