"In a dog's perfect world every greeting would be consummated with a shared piece of meat."
Hi friends!!
I hope you and your humans have some free time on your hands. Mommy has been loading videos and pictures all afternoon. Believe it or not Mommy got 3 videos to load!! Hard to believe but miracles do happen. First off I am in big trouble. I kinda sorta knocked over a order of "Pancake Poppers" from Denny's off the TV tray, that I wasn't supposed to be able to reach, and kinda ate all of them....come on there was only 6. Mommy didn't need them anyway. So now Mommy will take over this post since I gotta go back to time out......Whatever!!!
Please excuse Mona's absence, as she is moving kinda slow with 6 pancake poppers in her belly, that I was bringing to her Uncle Neil at work tomorrow, and she can sleep while she's in time out.
Yesterday we shared a video of everybody staying with Aunt Judy, her boys, one foster and two she is puppy sitting. I took a few pictures from different angles and they are all so cute, I just had to share them.
This was party for all of the volunteers, that worked at the Reliant Dog, including their dogs but I didn't take Mona with me for several reasons. She doesn't do well when other dogs show me affection and then there was Daisy. She bites everybody and constantly picks fights with all the girls, so Mona didn't need to be there. I'm not sure why but she never bit me and even let me hold her for all of 10 minutes. She has some problems yes, but based on her life thus far, who can blame her. Here is her bio & pictures on DROH's website:
Name: Daisy #6
Age: Young (1-4 Years)
Color: Red
Gender: F
Size: Tweenie (13-17 lbs.)
Preferences:
No Cats, No Young Children
No Cats, No Young Children
Description:
Hi. I'm Daisy. My foster mom calls me "Crazy Daisy". I have no idea why. Well, maybe it's because I like to chase my shadow and dig on the sofa and try to bury my toys. But other than that, I'm pretty much a normal Dachshund... well except that my ears are pointy and my tail is cropped. But other than that, just a normal, run of the mill, Doxie... yeah that's what I am. OK, so I'm kind of funny looking for a Doxie, but I promise you I have all the Doxie attitude (and affection) that you could ever ask for. Won't you consider adopting me into my forever home?

DAISY
I not sure just how many dachshunds were there. because people kept coming & going but here are some of the dogs I was able to snap pictures of.
This little girl is our first adoption of August. She went to her new forever family after the party.
Miss Kitty ( if your old like me...remember Miss Kitty from Gunsmoke).
MAYA
POPPY (she is available for adoption)
WINNIE
SOPHIE
This is Judy's current foster. She can't bark like a normal dog. Her vocal cords were cut to keep her quite. Give me a knife and I'll do the same thing to whoever did this to her.
SOPHIE
These next two are Mikey and Lula. Remember Mikey who got adopted along with Belle last month or so. We thought they looked like twins when we first saw them.

BROOKLYN
Last but not least is Mikey's sister. Mona would NOT have put up with her. When I wasn't holding Frodo she was naping in my arms or next to me all afternoon. This first picture is awful but I love the look on her face.
BELLE
BELLE
Before the videos, here are a few random pictures of doggies with humans, forget us, focus on the pups.
How many dogs do you see in Judy's lap. Notice the paw?

OK....every doggie, Mommy, Daddy and anybody with a hearing aid please turn your volumne down. If there is anything louder than a bunch of Italians, no offense to Italians, I am one too, it's a bunch of dogs and Dachshund Rescue of Houston volunteers celebrating. The final tally raised was around $3200.00. If you work hard ya gotta play hard, right!!
Until tomorrow........love, kisses and huggies to all.....Mona & Sarah

Hi, Mona and Mommy!
I am so sorry you are in time out! But sure it worth it, right?
My great grandma used to say that my grandma and her 3 sisters sounded like italian ladies when they were together!
Chatting a lot and pretty loud!
Thanks for sharing all the pictures and videos!
Kisses and hugs

Glad you enjoyed the photo of us with the pineapple. We have to say that nothing tastes better than the homegrown real thing.
In the photo Deacon was ready to go, while Essex is always patient.
You sure have a lot of Doxie pictures. Don't think we ever saw so many of them at once.
Essex & Deacon
We want to go to a doxie party, too! :)
That does look like fun.

Oh, look at all the cute pups!!! We like Brooklyn a lot and what a horrible thing to do to her- dogs were made to bark!
Mona, we hope your tummy took to those pancake poppers without making you sick.
