DROH'S BOOTH AT RELIANT DOG SHOW

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP IT UP! "

A farmer owned an old mule that fell into a well. After assessing the situation, the farmer reluctantly concluded that neither the mule nor the well was worth saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together and enlisted them to help bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery.
Initially the old mule was frantic, but as the dirt kept hitting his back, something happened. It dawned on the mule that every time a shovel load landed on his back, he should Shake It Off and Step Up!
This he did, blow after blow. Shake it off and step up…shake it off and step up. No matter how painful the blows or how distressing the situation, the old mule fought panic and just kept right on Shaking It Off And Stepping Up!
Before long, the old mule, battered and exhausted, stepped triumphantly through the mouth of that well. What seemed like it would bury him, actually helped him…all because of how he handled his adversity.

Hi friends,

Bet we kinda surprised ya tonight. No flower of the day but don't be disappointed they will be back on our next post. Today at work, administration sent the above story to the staff where Mommy works in their weekly Sharing e-mail and Mommy liked it so much that she is wanted to share it with all of you. It says a lot, Mommy says.

Well today the Reliant dog show got started and DROH was there bright & early to set up our booth. My Aunt Judy took pictures of how the booth looks and a couple of our foster dogs worked the kissing booth. Actually they slept most of the time since Thursday is usually a slow day with booths being set up, etc. Friday and Saturday is when things really start hopping. Not to worry, I'll get them in shape tomorrow and Saturday. As most of you know, my Mommy is not shy and she will pull people out of the crowds to come for kisses and talk DROH up real good.

I have to tell you something before we get to the pictures. We didn't get to go last year because Mommy's dear Aunt Annie died the day we was supposed to be there. She wasn't only Mommy's Aunt but her Godmother too and she lived with Mommy for 7 years and next to Mommy, Samantha loved her above everybody else. Mommy misses her something fierce, so tomorrow being out first day at the dog show, she don't have time to cry or feel depressed. So you see how important the next few day are to her and me too.

Mommy is almost excited as me!!! Lots of people we know are coming to get kisses from me. Mack's Mom and Dad will be there, Anne-Katherine is coming and Mommy's cousin who is with Great Pyrenees Rescue will be working in their booth and Dr Florence's wife Judy who is working in the Shih Tzu Rescue will be there too.

The floor plan below is h0w the booths are set up this year. If you blow it up you can see where some of the other rescue booths are located. Here are just a few of the Rescue groups that will be there:
The Lhaso Apso Club
Boston Terrier Rescue
Golden Retriever Rescue
The Friends of Rescued Mastiffs
Houston Beagle Rescue
Collie Rescue
Great Dane Rescue
Husky Rescue
Basset Buddies
and besides DROH, All Texas Dachshund Rescue too.

Here are pictures of the two dogs that worked the kissing booth today.

This afternoon, a lady with this cute little dog stopped at our booth and was talking to Aunt Judy. Aunt Judy said "What a cute little harness. We make harnesses too!! The lady said "I know, I bought it from you!!" What a small world~!!~ She said she had a harness made for her little girl, Bridgette, when she saw the website. She bought 2 more while they was chit chatting.

Well, just wanted to give ya a little peak at the dog show. Me and Mommy are going to go to Aunt Judy's tomorrow morning, so we can ride together. Since we're gonna go Saturday too, we're gonna spend the night over there tomorrow, so this will be our last post until Sunday.
Hope every doggie, kitty and hammie and your peoples have a wonderful weekend.
Love, kisses and {{{huggies}}} to all.....Mona
