THE LEGEND OF THE LILY

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

"In order to really enjoy a DOG, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly dog" ---- Edward Hoagland

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Hi dear friends,

Hope every doggie, kitty and hammie is having a happy holiday. Mommy has promised me that I get to have one Easter egg and one marshmallow bunny for my Easter breakfast tomorrow. Me and Mommy are going to go with Aunt Pam & Uncle Sonny to their son, Jason's in laws for lunch and Easter egg hunting and then we are going to Miss Frances & Marie's house for and Italian cookies and Tiramisu. Yummy!!!

I'm very excited about Easter because I get to play with my little human nephews Lane and Blake, but you won't get to see any pictures of me or them because Mommy still hasn't found our camera. I do have a Easter basket that looks something like the picture below so just act like this little puppy is me......course remember I am black and silver and not near as young as this pup.
I also got a little yellow duck (stuffie) to play with but Mommy gave him to me earlier in the week and he had a little accident & don't got no wings left. Some doggie must of snuck into my house and tried to eat my duck......I bet it was Spike.

Tomorrow Mommy and Aunt Pam are going to sunrise services at Aunt Pam's church, St Michael's Catholic Church, and they won't let dogs in. I don't know why? I'd be good. Anyway, Mommy is taking an Easter Lily tomorrow as a gift for Miss Frances because tomorrow is her birthday, she's 88 years old!! Mommy had never heard the legend of the Easter Lily so she looked it and this is what she found. Of course you know it made her cry. She thinks it is beautiful, so decided to share it with you.

Loveliest flower was I to see, In the garden of Gethsemane. My head erect, my pure white face. Such a delight for all to embrace. For all who entered the garden gate, I'd boldly lift my head and wait. Til they gazed upon my beauty fair. All who came would see me there. On the night before he was crucified, Jesus entered. He passed me by .He wept and prayed in silence there. .All my friends bowed their heads in prayer. In pity and sorrow they gathered round, except for me. I could not be found. I would not join in. I was much too proud. Bow my lovely head? No, I would not allow! News spread quickly, the very next day. All 'round the garden, I heard everyone say. Jesus was going to be crucified. Oh, I wanted to run. I wanted to hide! I'd been much too vain to hang my head low, that first Good Friday long, long, ago. I would not join the others who prayed with our King. Now, how can I bear such a sorrowful thing? No longer will I proudly face the sun. My head will hang lowly, ashamed of what I've done. My blossoms forever will turned down be, IN HONOR OF JESUS, at Gethsemane. --- by Dot McGinnis
May we all remember the true meaning of Easter. God Bless and keep you all in the palm of his hand!!
