DONATIONS & ADOPTIONS

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"If you've never owned dachshunds, no explanation is possible. If you have owned dachshunds, no explanation is necessary." --
Benny Archuleta

Hi hear friends,

20 DAYS & COUNTING UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!

The Mommy said except for church Sunday and going to the post office tomorrow morning, we are staying home all weekend. You are all are my witnesses, in case she changes her mind & I have to fuss at her. It is nice to visit our city friends, but sometimes we need just to relax and rest up for out next excursion. Maybe I can convince her to put up our Christmas tree!!

November has been a very busy and exciting month for DROH. We participated for the first time in Woofstock!! but best of all we had 12 adoptions, one of our biggest months ever. All three of our Hurricane Ike survivors where adopted, along with a brindle that had been with us for over a year and my brother, Toby, got a new doggie brother too. Now you see why rescue is so important and why raising money to help more homeless and abused dogs is so important. The Mommy would like to thank every doggie & their humans, you know who you are!!, that have helped us work towards our goal. We still have a way to go but with luck and God's blessing we will make it. Ya gotta believe!!

The lucky ones were:
11/02 Tigger (in DROH for more than a year)
11/02 Jake
11/08 Campbell (Toby's new brother)
11/08 Snow White (found after Hurricane Ike -- also blind)
11/18 Taylor
11/18 Ike (found after Hurricane Ike)
11/22 Skyler
11/22 Phoenix
11/23 George
11/24 Jim
11/25 Tiny Tina (now Emma--found after Hurricane Ike)
11/30 Marley

One last thing before we say goodnight. One of the volunteers that worked at WOOFSTOCK!! with the Mommy sent some pictures from the event today that she had forgotten to send. We just loved this one of two of our available for adoption doggies in the tepee that my Aunt Judy made. She is thinking about making them to sell to raise money for DROH, like she does her harnesses. One of these days, we will do a post about Aunt Judy's harness making.

This last picture is of me in my bikini at Woofstock!! It's too cold to wear it now, so the Mommy is putting it away until next year. I look a little plump but I'm still kinda cute....or so the Mommy says.

Love, kisses & huggies to all........Mona
