BABIES & PETS

Hello friends,

Mona has allowed me to take over her blog for tonight. She sends her love but she had so much excitement yesterday that she refused to let me take any pictures tonight so I am going to share something I heard at work today that I refuse to believe.

The statement was "Since I'm pregnant, I guess we'll have to give our pets away"

My answer to that was "That's a bunch of CRAP & HOGWASH"

Who says you have to give up your pets when you have a baby?
I guess the parents of these children with their previous babies AND pets would not agree. At Blake's birthday party, one year old , yesterday, the only time he and his big brother, Lane, weren't petting Mona was when they were "eating" their cake.

So what do you think? I think we all know the answer...doggies and kitty cats make the best friends and protectors for our children and what about unconditional love. I rest my case!!!

Does any of these pictures look familiar...not so much the pets or babies in them but their actions.
It's called LOVE.

I leave with one of the beliefs I have concerning rescue & pet adoption.
"within the heart of every stray lies the singular desire to be loved"
The Mommy

Yes, we agree with you that having a baby is no reason to give up one's pet. In fact, growing up with a pet will be really good for the kids.

Having a new addition to the family should be a happy event to be shared with everyone at home why must one be giving up one of your family member?

I hope this will never happen to our canines or felines friends again.

Agree with you too! Yes, cats urine can be a little dangerous to a pregnant woman becoz there's some acidic component in the cat's urine that can either make the mother sick or the baby sick. They can get sick by breathing in the air in the house. But that does not mean you will need to give up your pets. If the kitty litter is cleaned everyday, then there's no problem. But ofcourse, the mother don't do it. Somebody else must do the job.

I think all animals make wonderful pets. Dogs I think are the most gentlest but some dogs are not exactly safe being with babies alone unsupervised. Big size dogs will find babies weird becoz they're so small & will just freak out.

But I think it's great for the baby to grow up with animals around him. It teaches the baby to love animals & also to treat them well & with respect. I don't understand why many pregnant women give up their pets. They're not that much work honestly...They're much less work that real babies actually.

What adorable pictures - the next one is cuter than the last! Having a baby is a time to rejoice and include us too! It's a brother or sissy and a playmate for us too!

Love ya lots,

I love playing with the twins and they love me. Soon I will be an uncle and I can't wait to meet that baby.

My thoughts - Every child on this earth should own a Boston Terrier! (or similiar creature)

That's a bunch of dog poop! My Mom says pets and kids are meant to be together! Sure it might be a little crazy bringing a baby into the house at first, but in my mom's experience is a great thing to do. My mom remembers when my aunt was born and the dog they had sniffed my aunt until she had no scent left when seh first came home and then you pretty much had to ask the dog permission to touch the baby. I'm hoping Mom and Dad bring me home a baby some day so Sasha and I can sniff and protect it. PLUS with pets around, you don't have to worry about as many of the food related messes the kids make!!
Those pictures are great!!

Being involved in Rescue Mom has heard that comment too many times! In our opinion animals and children go hand in hand. Animals teach children the concept of unconditional love and responsibility. They protect and comfort and are devoted best friends. When we see a child that can't have a pet it makes us sad.
