THE MOMMY, THE BOYS AND ME

Hi friends,

Sorry we haven't posted in awhile but The Mommy has been very sick. The pain she had in her knee turned into a STREP INFECTION and she was admitted to the hospital Oct 29th and had surgery on her knee on Halloween day.She came home from the hospital this Monday. She really didn't come home to or house but is staying for now at our Aunt Pam & Uncle Sonny's house. The day she went into the hospital, Ron who is with DROH, came & got us and took us to Aldine Animal.to be boarded for a few days, she thought. Ron took Evander with him because he said it wasn't fair that the Mommy should have to pay to board a foster....Mommy would have done it anyway. The Mommy has to have HOME HEALTH CARE come everyday for two weeks to have the packing and dressings removed & changed and also they put something called a PICK LINE (or something) in her arm so she can have antibiotics directly into a vein once a day.

All of this is very sad and scary for us and the Mommy doesn't feel very well right now and she had to make a very hard decision that has torn her to pieces and my Aunt Pam said she has been crying since Sunday when the decision was made. I am turning this post over to my Aunt Pam because it is too hard for me to go on.

Please keep The Mommy, Jacks and Toby in your prayers.....Mona

My sister Sarah and the family have had a very big scare. Had the infection not have been caught in time, she could have lost her leg or her life. We are very thankful she is alive and still with us. My sister has never taken very good care of herself but she will do everything and anything for anybody else & any of her dogs. Our cousin, Shirley, and Sarah's best friend, Martha went to the hospital with me on Sunday and begged her to give up two of her dogs. Due to her health ( diabetes, arthritis and hypertension, a messed up back and now this, we and her doctors felt she can't handle three dogs anymore or foster. She can still do other things to help DROH. I know she feels we have forced her into giving two of them up but it is necessary and she understands why it is necessary. Believe me, it was not an easy decision for her to make. She agreed to give the boys back to DROH. It was decided that JACKS would HATE being an only dog because he is so active and playfuland would need company. Toby is just to big for her to handle at times. Mona has always been very independant and most of the time likes to play by herself with her toys and would ignore the boys except when they got out of line and she had to set them straight. I am turning this back to Mona now.

Jacks and Toby were picked up yesterday by Ron & surrendered to DROH. The Mommy thinks the word surrender sounds like such a nasty word, like she didn't want them anymore. I miss my brothers but we all agreed we wanted the Mommy to get better and stronger and hopefully stay that way. The people that are fortunate enough to adopt Jacks or Toby will know how much me and The Mommy loved the boys and will let us stay in touch and maybe see them once in a while.

Jacks and Toby want their girlfriends, Reina & Lorenza, to know how much they will miss visiting their blogs. Toby said Lorenza has been the only girl he has ever loved and that she will be always in his heart. I don't know when or if the Mommy will ever post again or want to keep our blog alive...WHAT WOULD WE CALL IT NOW? Mona & the Mommy?

Thanks for being our friends, keep my brothers in your thoughts and pray that the Mommy will smile again soon.

Love Mona

My mom is crying for you and your babies. But so many dog people put us and our health before their own. What would we do without you? You have to be healthy so we can be healthy. Please take care of your body and your heart. We'll miss the boys too, sigh.

Hi there, I'm Hana the Dog. I am sending positive thoughts your way to your Mommy so that she recovers quickly. Tell her that she needs to concentrate on herself right now. She should not feel guilty as she is doing the right thing. She needs to be healthy before she is able to take care of others. We have our paws crossed for her, and we are hoping the boys find a nice foster or a permanent home soon, with a nice family.

Hi, Mona
I don't know what to say right now! The whole situation makes me feel very sad. My mom is crying. Sure I hope your mom will recover pretty soon. She has to think about her health first. I have my paws crossed for her and for Jack and Toby too. From the bottom of my heart I hope they will find lovely homes to take care of them!
Your mom will need you more than ever dear Mona, so be a good girl and take care of her, ok?

Oh no. It has been so long since we've had the chance to catch up on our blog reading and now we read this. We are very, very glad the Mommy is doing better but we know her heart is broken at giving up Jacks and Toby and Evander too. DRoH will take good care of them and find them wonderful homes. Maybe not quite as wonderful as the one with the Mommy but with a dachsie lover who will spoil them as much as the Mommy has done.

We hope we continue to hear stories about Mona and the Mommy! And let us know what you hear about the boys!

Oh Mona...we wished we lived closer. My mommy could pack ur mommie's knee and put her antibotics in her PICC line and all that good stuff.(She's a nurse!) Be strong for ur mom, now, Mona. Her leg will heal and she will feel so much better than she is now. Those mean buggies that get in there take a while to get rid of, but with good care and Pawsitive thoughts from everyone, we so hope she'll feel better soon. There comes a time when the Mommy has to be first...so she can take care of you, honey. Please, please keep up your blog. I think it's good for her to have support right now...and you too.

We're keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers....

I heard about all of you from Scruffy & Lacie, and had to come by to tell you that I'm sending healing goober smooches for the Mommy, and for you, Mona.

It must be so tough to have to make decisions like the one the Mommy had to make, but Rescue will take care of Jack & Toby! I hope you get lots of snuggles and scritches while the Mommy is healing. Remember that doggies you've never even heard of will miss out if you never post again, but, sometimes Mommies have to rearrange their priorities.

Keep us posted please.

Your goober friend,
Stanley

what an incredibly hard time you are enduring right now. My heart goes to you for having to make such difficult choices, one's which you would rather never have to make. There is nothing we can say to make things better, but don't despair. You have done everything in your power, and now you need to save your energy for yourself. All the best in everything

omg we are so sad to hear about the mommy, and that she is so sick. I am sure DRoH will find good homes for the boys - I wish that we lived closer and we would at least foster them...tell your momma to try and remember all of the very good things she has done for doggins and how much love she has shown them, and know that they will carry that with them no matter where they live.
Love and KISSES,
Ricky (and huge hugs from Chloe)
