MEET COUSIN STANLEY

Quote of the day:

"Once an adopter, always a adopter"

Hi friends, Mona here.

We want you to meet our new cousin. His name is
Stanley, or Buddy as he is sometimes called.

Stanley before his adoption.

Stanley was adopted from the Pasadena Animal Shelter in December 2014 and is estimated to be a year and a half old.
He was found locked in a garage when his owners moved and left him. Our cousin Laurinda and her daughter saw him on Facebook and had to have him. On Sunday Mommy met him in the flesh and fell in love with him. Mommy and Uncle Tim think he has some dachshund and terrier in him. What do you think? Mommy told Laurinda that if she ever needs a pup sitter, she knows who to call. Us girls can't wait to meet him. Mommy says he is a perfect fit for Sammie Jean.
Now that will something to see. Mommy said we'll get to meet Stanley in the flesh real soon.

Stanley on Sunday

Stanley is not the only rescue our cousin has adopted. There have been 2 others. Mommy and Laurinda have been close since she was a little girl, so some of Mommy must have rubbed of on  her.

Before Stanley there was Joni.

Joni
.

Joni was adopted from HBHR (Houston Beagle & Hound Rescue) in April 2010 after Laurinda's first dog, Lucky, had passed away.  She was a year old and had never played with toys. They had to teach her how to play. She doesn't know Joni's real story. She was skiddish of men but learned to love Laurinda's husband.

Then there was Lucky, Laurinda's first adopted dog and her heart dog like Samantha is Mommy's heart dog.

Lucky at 3 months old

Lucky was from Liberty. She was about 3 months old when our cousin Laurinda got her.  That was the summer of 1996 and she passed away February 2010, so she was 14 when she crossed her rainbow bridge.  She had been shot with pellets by kids who lived down the road from an elderly lady she belonged to and she couldn't take care of her so in stepped our cousin and her then husband. Before she died she was blind so my brother, Weenie and her had something in common. Mommy said she bets Lucky was waiting at the bridge when Weenie crossed over his bridge. That makes Mommy and Laurinda very happy and I believe it's true too.

Oh how can people "forget" a dog when they move.. that's so sad... but now your cousin Stanley is in the bestest paws ever... it's great that this world has so much good people too, who are there if a furfriend needs help. Hugs to you and your cousin :o)

Thanks Sarah for posting such wonderful words about my dogs. After Lucky passed away, I didn't think I could love a dog again as much as I loved her. Well, Stanley, my first boy dog sure has running a very close second! We don't know what breed he is, but who could say no that face? Hoping Stanley and your girls can play real soon.
